I'm having fun in space and you're mad.
I'm joining the space pirates and hanging out with them and you're mad.
I'm getting space super powers and you're mad.
I'm watching my ex-wife try to kill all her old friends in my next life and you're mad.

Stay mad, losers.

Like if Akitoshi Kawazu got the chance to make a Wizardry Gaiden, and in his madness based it roughly off of The Return of Werdna. Been a fan of this one since the April game jam version and the full game was even more satisfying.

Still don't know how my second half third run managed to spend the last two hours leveling every Main Character stat except Health (until the final fight, which I was very amused by) but that's the nature of the RNG beast sometimes.

Also would not mind progression counters for knowing how many actions would be necessary until something is eligible to proc development - this could even be as vague as possible, but still knowing I "have x moves until character/monster reaches another development stage" would be nice. Most of this didn't get in the long term satisfaction of finishing the game though.

Can imagine about 10 different ways a sequel/spin-off would play out too, but I'm looking forward to it however it turns out.

A fun little item trading adventure game with a ridiculous cast of characters.

Fun for your kids, fun for you.

Played through this after one of the devs gifted me a key, and while the way it weaves clues into an instagram account is fascinating and interesting, it feels like a story that (so far) falters a bit because it leads a player to think that the central character is lying by omission about a number of things in their life, and the vlogs tell as much - but don't present a wider picture.

I kind of think this could go on for another half hour - at the same time how would a player feel about Roos after they open up even more or even show implied darker aspects of themselves? I'm interested enough to play a continuation of this story, at least.

While it's not quite the depth of a Sam Barlow title, it's still recommended as an experimental narrative piece and the potential prologue to a larger work.

After so many great casual roguelikes/rogue-inspired puzzlers in the last 10 years or so is still the standard bearer for simplicity, strategic depth, and just an absolute load of content on both a base and mod level. Would love a sequel someday on even more platforms (even though DD on the Switch would be an oxymoron but they've already gone to mobile so why not), but even after 300+ hours put into both the Steam and Kongregate versions, I've still got a lot to unlock so I'm in no hurry for that.

This is a world where a nuclear armed version of The WELL unleashed fury upon Geocities, then they got incredibly high and rebuilt it in their image.

This is a world where hot butter and ice cream just make sense to go together.

This is a world of espionage, conflict, sabotage, destruction, and virtual pets - all in the Teen portal.

This is a world where Chowder Man has to get over his fear of shaving through the power of prog rock.

This is a world where a man with the truth is ready to reveal all of the darkest secrets of who really controls the world... if he could just get his scanner to work.

Hypnospace Outlaw is just about the best piece of video game you can get in 2019. It's certainly the most aggressively alive videogame world created this year. Not to mention - an absolute masterpiece of a soundtrack. I don't know if you've made your mind up yet or not at this point. But if your cursor is hovering anywhere near the "Add to Cart" button. I just have to sayERROR HXX0XXXX

A little magical perfect sandbox of a game.

Basically think of it as where all your villagers in Animal Crossing would go on summer vacation. Lots to do, even if the actual endgame condition doesn't take but a couple of hours.

I hope one day Kaz Ayabe finds this game in his hands and says "Yeah, maybe I can do another one."

Everybody's begging for a new Rocksteady game or whatever.

I just want Alexander Bruce to make a second game, because thinking about it, and I mean thinking about it a lot, this might be the most underrated game of the last ten years and seriously threatening the top of my end of decade list of best games.

Some folks in Finland decided one day "Hey, let's put together Zombies (Ate My Neighbors) and Attack of the Killer Tomatoes!" and I'm like "Yeah that's smart, pfft".

Joke's on me, it turned out to be one of the better twin-stick shooters of the last couple of years. Lots of replayability, well laid out hub worlds, cool weapons, perks, CO-OP MODE which so many TSS's ignore for the sake of pretentious game design (not necessarily looking at 10tons but certainly devs trying to bite their style), and fun characters and enemy designs.

Hey, 10 bucks is more than fair, snatch this up.
