After many hours and several failed attempts at making it through the summer, I finally survived long enough to see the seasons change, and for winter to take its icy but beautiful grip on the land I'd been forced to mercilessly exploit and transform in order to survive. I wrapped up warm, wearing my earmuffs made from rabbit hides and my jacket patched together from the trunk of a large wooly elephant creature, and set out from my camp to take in the breathtaking sights of the snow-covered world.

Then I was killed by a Penguin.

Despite being one of those people who buys a tonne of games on Steam and struggles to find time to play them all, I always find time to play Rogue Legacy. It's a challenging Rogue-like platformer, with RPG-style levelling of stats and equipment, and it's incredibly addictive. I love the art style and humour, and the fact that your characters can start their questing careers with not just positive traits, but negative ones too, which will affect the game while you're using them (ever seen a paladin with irritable bowel syndrome or an archmage with glaucoma? You will in this game!). It all adds up to a pretty funky game that you'll spend hours playing without even noticing the time flying by.
