Planet Crafter is a pretty cool resource collecting / base building game. All you do in this game, however, is grind and build, grind and build. The gameplay started off by exciting me, but the mining became slightly boring later. The survival aspect, as others have mentioned, seems secondary. I've died a fair few times due to my own silliness though - it's not completely insignificant.

Somehow, the game developers made me feel like I was playing a horror game when exploring wrecks. I don't know if it was intentional, but it's pretty great. 10/10 would get spooked by the lack of sound and sprint out of a wreck again.

The game does run on my i5's integrated graphics.

I'm maybe under halfway through the game, and will definitely finish it in the future.

This is a great game! For me, it's been all about designing the best airport possible and much less about the business side of things - mostly because I usually play the sandbox mode, in which you have unlimited money.

The game runs great on my low spec computer from a couple years ago. Development seems to be slow but ongoing. Mod makers and other community members are reasonably active on the game's Discord server.

I came to this game after playing Prison Architect and found the building mechanics quite similar. If you enjoy games such as Cities Skylines and are a fan of airports, this game is for you.

[re-review written during open beta 2022]

This is the real deal when it comes to destructible FPS games. Bring down massive structures by blowing them up, cutting through the completely destructible terrain. Build your own "headglitch" walls, sky platforms, or defensive castles using the blocks you dig. The gunplay feels clean and precise, and the netcode works better than several other games (you can play on 200ms without breaking a sweat). It has fancy, nice looking graphics, but you can turn those all off to run this game on a mid-range system (although, I was able to run the game at 1080p in 2020 easily, but can only play at about half the resolution now - as the game is developed it will play less and less well on your low-end systems).

As of writing this review, the game is still in early access, so weapon balance is still being worked on. More gamemodes, characters and content are planned to be added. To add to that, the devs push bug fixes actively, and have been doing so at least once a week (usually more often) for the past two years. You can be sure that the game will be constantly changing and improving for the better, no matter what issues it has currently.

I found this game by complete chance in April 2020. It's still one of the games I enjoy the most.
