Artifical difficulty in a nutshell.
- Enemies can do a backflip and reverse direction in midair as if it's tony hawk
- Random lightning strikes take out your HUD and you lose controls, causing you to crash
- Trying to look around on Xbox controller joystick is insanely hard because it's too sensitive
- Pressing Y to switch target takes forever to lock onto the one you want

Edit: TL;DR: Too buggy, many deep issues, and devs aren't showing promise in fixing this game.

I have near 400 hours in this game. Let me get one thing out of the way: the core of the game is very good. Mechanics, movement, gunplay, sound and map design are all amazing. There is nothing on the market that compares to this game.

Everything is amazing when it goes well, but pretty often you run into a game-breaking bug, and those come very often. This game has also slowly decayed over the years. NWI was bought out by Focus and there has been a steady exodus of OG devs. The new devs seem absolutely clueless on what the community wants and do not understand the original vision of the game. On top of that every update they'll introduce two new bugs for every fix.

Some of those include:

- AI that randomly insta headshots you from 50m away while running sideways
- Perf issues, I get tons of stuttering even on a 3080 playing on low graphics
- Worse-than-tarkov tier hit reg, also enemies dying 2 seconds after you hit them
- New devs wanting to add fortnite-tier character skins
- New dev designed maps god awful (Gap, Citadel, Bab)
- After reloading or switching weapons your arms freeze for a moment where you can shoot but you cannot aim down sights
- Using aiming grip breaks your thumb
- Jank as hell recoil system where full auto has less recoil than semi

Playing this game feels like dating an abusive ex where things are mostly good but once in a while you get tortured, then you get empty promises that never get fulfilled.


UPDATE: Very few of the mentioned issues were fixed. NWI fixed dud incendiary grenades... and that's about it. They added a new map, Prison, that somehow manages to beat out Citadel in terms of crappiness.

Super buggy and unpolished. Gets repetitive quickly. Not much replay value at all.
