Supports 32:9 ultrawide, 120 FPS, mech go VROOM and DAKKA DAKKA.

Fun campaign that doesn't overstay it's welcome with lots of replayability.

It's alright.

The best singleplayer campaign I've played in recent years. Eidos-Montréal's take on the Guardians is different from the comics and the movies but is worthy to stand side-by-side Dan Abnett's run or James Gunn's MCU version.

Guardians has a branching storyline that is action-packed, emotional and comedic. It has well-written characters and slick controls. It has level design that rewards exploration and also an amazing soundtrack.

Interacting with the team and watching them bicker and joke with each other makes the other Guardians feel more than just your standard talking head NPCs. Each of them have their own mini-arc dedicated in the campaign that fleshes out their characters more. You can even go and find trinkets throughout the levels that will unlock more dialogue choices with the other Guardians and reveal more about themselves. After missions, you can spend some time wandering the Milano. Here you can interact and talk more with the other guardians. Some will also comment on certain things you've done in the game. For example, when a new psychic crew member comes aboard and commented on me doing a certain action repeatedly throughout the whole game. I've been doing that action even before they appeared in the story and yet they still knew. It's not just a random throw away line, it shows that they really are psychic and not just bullshitting. I find that a nice touch.

Gameplay is pretty simple but it does the job, Star-Lord's element gun has 4 different elements you can swap around. Star-Lord and the other guardians each have multiple skills to unlock and also an ultimate ability. During combat you can order them around to use their skills on enemies. Using these skills in the correct order is important in later, tougher encounters. Kinda like a simplified Dragon Age Origins. What's unique is the huddle mechanic. Once you get enough points you can trigger this mechanic where all the Guardians huddle together and Star-Lord has to deliver a pep-talk. If you succeed in hyping them up, you all get several buffs like damage and health boosts. All the while some random track from Star-Lords cassette player is blasting.

You can see the devs did their research because the game is littered with Easter Eggs and references for comic readers. Without going into spoilers, playing this game feels like a love letter to the franchise and the Marvel universe as a whole. Even the credits are unique and show a lot of effort and care. It's not your usual black background with white scrolling text.

This is not The Avengers, skip The Avengers. Buy this game. BUY. GUARDIANS. OF. THE. GALAXY

Halo is a pretty cool guy and not afraid of anything, Cosmetic prices are ♥♥♥♥ though in 2023. Customization is slightly improved.

A welcome addition to the Gears franchise, I had fun with the combat, enjoyed the banter and interaction between the characters in the story and the multiplayer PVP and PVE modes offer a lot of maps and fun too. JACK is also a cool addition to the Gears universe and has cool upgrades, my favourite is the one where you can take control of enemies.

Where the game falls short is balancing on Insane difficulty. Enemies are either bullet sponges, have perfect aim or both. They can also melee you in 1 or 2 hits. This limits weapon choices where me and my friend would avoid any close range weapons like the new cryo gun and the shotgun and go for safer long range weapons. No revives also makes one of JACKS upgrade trees entirely useless [the one with the AOE revive] but other than I highly recommend this to fans of AAA cover shooters.

If you just want to enjoy the story then go ahead and play on normal or lower, for a challenge take hard mode, if your a masochist then go play the campaign on Insane.

PVP is easy to hop in and crossplay with Xbox makes finding matches easy.

+ Curently the best gunplay of any FPS on the market, interesting world with lots of locations to explore, fun guns, enemies that are fun to fight against , rewarding upgrades/progression and awesome gore.

- Terrible KB/M controls for vehicles, narrative maybe light for those who want a more linear experience

* Runs 70 - 80 FPS max on 2560 x 1080 with an i5-6500, GTX 1080 + 16GB RAM
* Played on Hard mode

I bought this game when it was released then refunded it an hour later because the experience was frustrating. The game always teleports enemies with no clear sound indicators of them spawning. Thus the game loop was spawn->enemies spawn-> you die ->reload level

I picked up again during the Autumn Sale and found the experience hugely improved. Until I got to the first boss.

First of all the arena with the boss has no ammo or health pickups. The game only gives that when you kill an enemy. Fighting the first boss? Good.♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.luck.

Second. The boss has no clear attack patterns resulting in cheap player deaths. Sometimes he lumbers, sometimes he jumps at you from a distance, sometimes he swings his big ass sword around. So the only option is bunny hopping. Doesn't work because he can jump and when he hits the ground a shockwave appears which you usually can't evade because you have the legs of an amputated hobbit. Or your running for your life and he cheaply kills you from behind with that shock wave. Did I also tell you that each of his attacks take a huge chunk of your health?

Third. Then when you finally kill him he flys up and then shoots rockets at you. Turns out that was the first phase. If you die then you have to restart the boss fight from the beginning. Lucky you.

Yeah that's not fun or challenging. You're just frustrating the player with cheap deaths.
