Early Access Review
Game had a great campaign but completely fell apart once you hit endgame. Its the same old boring mapping from poe with nothing new other then it being presented in a nicer layout. A layout that lags like crazy to open btw. Once you get higher into maps literally everything 1 shots you so you better be playing a build that kills things off screen. There is no amount of life/armor/etc that will save you from these one shot mechanics. Mobs have practically invisible on death effects that also one shot you. Oh you forgot to wait 5 seconds after killing an elite and tried to pick up the loot? Dead. Did i mention that if you die you lose your entire map and have to start over? Horrible game design that is not fun.
Once again we have to deal with this terrible trade system if you want to play in a trade league where 99% of players are afk or ghosting you whenever you try to buy any item. Just put in a auction house already, I don't want to deal with this kind of player interaction.
Gearing is abysmal, every single piece of gear needs be tri-res before you can look at other stats. The -resists as you progress is extreme and fishing for resist gear is extremely boring. Idk why arpgs cannot figure out interesting gear stats. Not to mention the classic 99% of all uniques you find are absolutely worthless due to lack of necessary stats.
I know the game is in EA but its falling into all the same things that made me dislike POE1, I was hoping for something different here. Maybe it will change by release.

Don't let the haters sway you, game is amazing and is honestly a full game at a DLC price tag. Don't discourage developers from releasing amazing content additions to already amazing games.

To the people struggling, yes its hard, get good.

Early Access Review
Great game and glad to see the sequel existing. Obviously the game is in early access so there is a bit missing but nothing that would stop one from playing. Some place holder art here and there and an unfinished 2nd area.

Things I would like to see changes to and/or improved:

- Weapons: Almost all the weapons heavily lean into the charge "Omega" mechanic, would like to see some variety focusing on not using omega moves at all. I found myself exclusively using the Twin Sisters (dagger) weapon after unlocking and trying all the weapons due to this. The range double wand weapon is almost unplayable.

- Weapon aspects: In Hades 1, aspects could vastly change the players play style with some unique effects. Almost all the aspects in this game seem to only focus on the charge mechanic again or do something boring like spells cost less or the weapon swings faster.

-Boons: Boons feel a lot more bland in this game than Hades 1. This might be an early access thing but the modifications are all extremely similar to each other. For example your cast has 2 options, either modify the circle around you or be able to target enemies at a distance. It is ALWAYS the same basic cast circle with just some added effects (it does lightning damage, it does cold damage, it does fire damage, etc) very boring.

- Sprint: Sprint is in a weird spot, I get this is probably to get away from the dash spam in hades 1 and how strong that was but boons on sprint almost all feel completely useless. I am never looking for a sprint boon outside of just filling the slot.

As other reviews have stated the performance issues are pretty bad and not being able to have stable FPS is unacceptable for a modern game. I was able to improve this some with settings tweaks and lowering things like shadows but never to the level it should be.

Regarding the MTX issue, this aspect doesn't matter a whole lot. None of the items in the shop matter in the least bit to enhance the player experience in my opinion. Still pretty unhappy about the predatory tactics of them existing for a $70 game but its seems the devs picked items specifically that "hopefully" players would realize not to buy. Probably a corporate demand for them existing as seen in other Capcom games.

The biggest issue's I had with the game was actually with content and gameplay. I finished the game in about 25-30 hours (had some menu idle time) which is pretty fast for this style of game, especially at the $70 price point. That isn't to say I couldn't have played the game longer but I hit a point where I just didn't want to, so I rushed the story to finish the game. There was seemingly no reason to sink any additional time into the game. I had tried all the Vocations to at least level 5 and maxed out Magick Archer, Thief and Mystic Spearhand.

Combat: While the combat was extremely fun, this lost its luster quickly as the gameplay never evolved much as you progress through the game. You fight the same 3-4 groups of enemies and 3-4 large monster the entire game....this never changes. After killing these a half dozen times it becomes extremely repetitive and boring.

Quests: For a quest driven game I found these way more frustrating then enjoyable. Some are extremely vague and give litter direction even if you read all the dialogue. You end up running back and forth multiple times between areas and I feel like half my playtime was exactly that. Also, if you are going to make quests time of day reliant, give me the option to skip forward time in a menu somewhere or have an item i can use to do it. Running out to a quest and missing the time window then having to run back to a bar, inn or campfire to skip time forward is not very engaging or fun.

Story: Bland story and didn't hook at all, expected much more out of this for once again a $70 AAA game. By the half way point I was just skipping most of it as it seemed incredibly uninspired.

Overall i'd say this is a 5/10 game only for the combat. The game starts with a huge high in this regard but as you expect it to evolve the enjoyment is quickly diminished when you realize nothing changes.

Back to being a great game, glad to see Sony actually listened to player feedback and reversed its decision.

This game had potential and was genuinely enjoying it for the first 2-3 stages but then the game just completely fell apart. I don't think I've ever done such a quick 180 on a game before and felt so disappointed. Played through the whole time as a 3 player co-op group. The final area / boss was extremely lack luster and the boss health bar was bugged out the whole time. A full run takes upwards of 2 hours and is not very rewarding in the late stages so replay-ability is lacking. Players do not have very many options to branch out in the play style of their character and it just turns into finding the best area to leave doors closed to funnel enemies. You never feel any sort of power spike in your character. Seems like a cash-grab on the Endless IP.

Early Access Review
Since early access this game has massively expanded on release. I finally came back to it and I'm glad I did. The game took its great foundation and really took off with it. Nice work.

Running around like a chicken with my head cut off praying I took the right teleporter. 10/10 love the chaos and sense of urgency this game instills. Gets really intense and keeps the blood pumping!

Incredibly fun and deep card game with fair pricing model. This is a TCG, not a CCG. I know the masses are spoiled on free models with currency grinds but your cards are trade-able in this game. Not only that, it costs literal pennies to acquire 95% of the collection. Are we that cheap? I remember re-buying $60 games over and over just because I lost the CD in the past.

Then there is all the free modes...infinite casual phantom drafts is unreal. You can also get some friends together and do an in-house draft with tournament mode FOR FREE. No other card game offers that. Try to look past the band-wagon negative reviews and look at this for what it is, a great game.
