Took them months to finally launch this turd. When they did, they completely gutted the Town of Us modset, and it still doesn't work. Bunch of incompetents and they're gonna kill the among us modding community.

Another quality experience from SuperGiant Games.

The gameplay itself was solid. Being able to mix and match all of the existing powers in so many ways had a great sandbox feel to it. However, all of the enemy encounters were very scripted, limiting how long you could experiment.

It saddened me a little that the gameplay was confined to these short bursts of action. I'm not sure if it was done this way in order to preserve the points of narration, or becuase the art was just so good, from such a small studio. I wonder if the game may have felt longer if the presentation of the combat had been approached differently. However, the combat that was there was very enjoyable, with lots of quirks to explore.

The music, art, and story were all superb. But, these only feel on par because of what was sacraficed to attain them - gameplay and length of the game. The new game+ is required to get all of the game's achievements, yet doesn't add anything of value except for more gameplay. This feels lazy to me, the gameplay should have been scaled for a single playthough instead of forcing the player to loop through again. It might have some significance to the story, but that doesn't justify forcing the player to do everything again.

But for all of the picking I'm doing, I do recommend the game. The first time I played it through, the experience was incredibly tight, the story sucked me in, and I was equally enthralled by the gameplay and the art. I recommend this game, but maybe wait for the steam sales.

A different kind of action platformer, using an interesting method to discourage farming. The longer you play, the harder it gets, and enough creatures will spawn to kill you.

Beautiful art, I love the mood it sets.

Very high replay factor, lots of interesting items to unlock, 9 secret characters, and some randomly generated content in the level geometries as well.

However, the game lags if you have too many enemies on the screen, I think they need to fix how they handle that.

Overall, I'm loving the game, 20 hours in and I'm still coming back.

Update - The game recently added an artifact system as well, adding more hidden content to each level and greater replayability. However, I have found the game to be a little bit buggy in a few aspects, but not enough to stop my enjoyment of it.

A light-hearted game with dark undertones, and an unexpected ending. There isn't much in terms of actual gameplay, but it manages to tell intriguing story.

Also, you get to burn things.

If you're looking for something different, pick it up.

One of the most well done platformers I've played in a while. It's fast paced and up-beat, yet it can be frustratingly difficult at times. The coolest of the game's mechanics is the beat - the music is always in time with the platforming challenges. If you can get into to the rhythm, the game will play quite smoothly.

This game makes me wonder why we rarely see point and click adventures.

Machinarium is full of life, the developers really succeeded in creating an immersive world. The music, characters, and scenery are all so well done that they make you feel like you're really there.

The puzzles are solid as well, you'll be getting very familiar with the world that's been built, struggling to figure out how to get further.

Whether you want a good brain teaser, or just feel like indulging in a good fantasy world, Machinarium delivers.

Short and sweet, VVVVVV takes a twist on standard platforming mechanics, and molds a game around it. The game is fun, challenging, and has a killer soundtrack. Definitely worth a playthrough.
