I have previously played this game partially on the Wii U. Graphics were,...meh. So I figure the PC version would be more visually pleasing. Sadly, I have come across a few issues with this game.

After purchase, I received a code for UPlay activation. Sadly though, the key was already used under another account. Keep in mind I only have one UPlay account and a fresh key for activation. Fortunately, Ubisoft was great in resolving the key code issue.

The in-game settings are NOT guaranteed to work for you 100% of the time. Or even 50% of the time. Screen resolution, quality of details, effects, windowed/full-screen, Vsync, etc. Settings do not adjust right and may not work properly over an HDMI connection.

The game does NOT look or run any better, no matter how you tweak the settings. Even Watch_Dogs 2 runs smoother (higher frame rates) and is more visually pleasing (demands more out of your machine but more polished).

Although I have yet to finish the game at the time of this post, I do want to note that this particular installment is better than the first for a couple reasons. One, being the game engine, as it feels upgraded and a bit more fine-tuned. Second, the graphical quality makes the game more visually pleasant. If you have not played the first Watch_Dogs, then those statements would be irrelevant.

Other note: the multiplayer does work indeed.

My only aching issue is the requirement of having UPlay active and running. And sometimes a simple game launch through Steam may not actually launch the game (only the splash screen). Be sure that UPlay is already running.

This is a simple game, with a short yet simple story, equipped with simple to use controls, and simply beautiful to check out. And when we say short, we're talking 1-2 hours and you're done (minus the achievements). No difficulties. No bonus rounds. That's it.

I will recommend the game for those who are...alternative...in their choice of games. For me, I play games that are trending, and some that don't. No worrying about aiming and shooting, no worrying about server connections, no having to memorize special combos for the ultimate finish.

Sometimes simplicity is all you need. Spend a few bucks, step away from other games for a couple hours, and embrace it.

It's a great get-together game for anyone. If you have a bunch of folks looking for something new, you'll have no regrets owning this game.

The difficulty comes with getting the party started. But once you start the momentum, you'll be the star of the party. Just say you're trying something new, play, giggle a bit or two, say it's fun, entice others to join. Done.

I play on a gaming laptop, and as we all know with laptops, the screen's color gets distorted when viewing from the wrong angle. The game's cel-shaded design has the effect where it looks like the angle of the screen is off, which actually hurts my eyes.

I thought getting it on sale was a great idea, until I played the story line. Not that I can't handle seeing blood effects or dialogue for "your ears only", it's definitely not my type of game.

And if you don't like this game, it could be one of three reasons:
1) It's not the hack/slash game you'd expect.
2) The game's cel-shaded design lacks color and looks distorted.
3) Execution of the storyline and how it's played out.

Wasn't a big fan of slicing of a lady's legs, almost looking up her blouse, whilst being possessed by a demon, and with an assistant where her voice could substitute a dog whistle.

Free or not, it doesn't work for me. The new engine and extremely low frame rate are unacceptable. Not to mention the crashing at the BEGINNING of the story. Not even the shadows looked normal.

Why would I play the "special" version around 10-20 fps at low resolutions when I can run the original (including the hi-res texture pack), max out every setting and play 60 fps consistently (includes 2x anti-aliasing and 2x ansiotropic, two features I normally turn off)?

And my machine's not outdated. Own a Lenovo Ideapad Y700, running an Intel Core i7-6700HQ @ 2.6GHz (4 cores, 8 threads), 4GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M, and 16GB DDR3 RAM. Windows 10 Home (64-bit).

Pitiful to even call it special. Not even close.

Side note: If I ever see the title screen and loading screen, I see the FPS goes up to 60, then drops severly. Prior to any dialogue, it then crashes with no error.

It's nice to pass the time with a bit of Poker.

If you're looking for reasons to buy: the characters and/or poker itself.

If you're looking for reasons NOT to buy: dialogue gets VERY repetitive after the first few tournaments, and lack of variety. Only two modes you can play are Texas Hold 'Em and Omaha (you play 2 out of the 4 cards in your hand).

I recommend because I believe that everyone should [at least] have one non-hardcore, non-shooting, non-expensive game that only exists to pass the time. No online players to troll you, no open worlds to load and get lost in, no solid objective to meet or complete, and have the guilty pleasure of gambling, of course.

And if you can't (or won't) see yourself playing this particular game, then find games similar to this one. Cheap, time killing, light on storage, not covered in bullets and blood.

I remember the good 'ol days when it was out on the Sega Dreamcast and the Nintendo Gamecube. In-game music was kick-ass, and still is.

Very few games [at the time] matched the quality and work that went into Dust: AET. Beautiful, fun, and originally designed for XBOX Live. Fortunately, a Steam version was made so I could recommend it to others.

About 10-15 hours of play time if you take your time to 100% the game. Still deemed worthy of your wallet and your time!

If you can't max out the graphics and achieve 60FPS in this beautifully crafted game, you may be past due for an upgrade.

With that statement out of the way, I recommend the game. Be sure to play with a controller, though. The keyboard works alright and is playable, but not the best experience.
