Pilgrim has a fun theme and concept but is way too barren.

+Pros and -Cons:
  • +Atmosphere is spot on!
  • +Although limited, dungeons and monsters are spooky.
  • +Revival system is funny. Also makes the game feel a lot less punishing than others, especially when learning.
  • -VERY repetitive without the feeling like the grind is actually helping you progress.
  • -Little urgency to explore beyond making the cart move a faster. The only real incentive you have is to outrun the giant which can be temporary. Nothing else seems to stop you from just pushing the cart all the way to the end.

~Other Thoughts/Concerns
  • ~Heavily restricted solo player experience, friends are a must. I know the game was made with co-op in mind but it's nice to have options if playing solo, even if co-op is the core focus.
  • ~Lacks content, very limited dungeon generation, customization, and monster interactions which I assume will change since Pilgrim is in early access. Even still, the game feels like it's missing more than just polish or content.
  • ~Updates seem to have gone quiet since July, not sure what this means for future patches.

Currently, Pilgrim does not compete with other similar early access co-op games like Lethal Company, Sketchy's Contract, Murky Divers, etc. Started to feel like a slog to continue going after about an hour of gameplay. Sadly cannot recommend but I hope others have fun! Will definitely check back in after a few updates :)

While I'm not a big fan of throwing the corpses of my fallen heroes I spent hours cautiously nurturing into formidable allies into a bottomless pit of dangerous grind for some shiny blue rocks, this DLC is what I would recommend the most. If you want to spend money on DLC for Darkest Dungeon, this is the one to get. You get heaps of content from a relatively cheap DLC (at least in comparison to the other options).
The new region features an endless fighting phase that explores an alien farmstead, filled with more tenacious foes than your usual dungeon, with the goal of determining how many enemies you can fell in hopes of obtaining Comet Shards before your team wipes, or you retreat and suffer the stress of loss. Although it's more survivable than the Courtyard of The Crimson Court DLC, it still provides a considerable challenge for those seeking these new useful trinkets.
If endless dungeons are not your thing, you can leave it untouched and reap the benefits of the District system (buildings within your hamlet you can repair for very welcomed boosts) and new quirks for your heroes. A very worthwhile purchase if you're a big fan of Darkest Dungeon.

Best described as "end game" content. The added dungeon, story, class, trinkets, and enemies are a great addition to the game and provide a much heftier challenge to the base game however, it adds a lot of stress to your heroes. The Crimson Court just being active in game causes stress-reducing activities be less effective, and becoming afflicted with this vampiric curse causes even more stress. I can see why the reviews are so heavily mixed, but when prepared, adds so much more to the game and is well worth the price. An engaging, enjoyable challenge, which may be an annoyance to some.

Reasonably priced but best when bought discounted with the rest of the DLC's. The Shieldbreaker is a very mobile class which can make a very welcomed addition to your hamlet however, it's nothing extraordinary nor is it essential for gameplay. The Crimson Court and/or The Color of Madness are better purchases. In conclusion, The Shieldbreaker is adequate, good, pretty okay, but nothing special.

The Dark Souls of 2D turn-based RND RPG's with a difficulty setting that definitely needs adjusting to. Very appealing art style and compelling story. While research into the game may allow you to survive a few rounds longer, I highly recommend going in blind and learning the game through experience. You may loose to a boss with 1hp remaining whom had killed you right before your next turn, but it's events like those that really set in stone the risk and challenge you may be searching for.
I really like the stress mechanic which can give helpful buffs (the hero reducing stress of other heroes or giving temporary stat boosts, etc) or devastating afflictions that often lead you to your demise. My healers seem to have a knack for becoming abusive and attempting to kill my highwaymen whom are usually in need of healing but overall, a fantastic game for a masochist, sadist, or those looking for a challenging yet intriguing experience.

Feels kinda like a worse Dreadnought but with dragons instead of ships, gets dull very quickly. Stiff controls however, the dragons have very satisfying flying animations. Cool concept that needs a better execution. It's free though so no harm done downloading and trying out the game but definitely needs polishing.

Fun turn-based RPG to play with a friend or two. Very replayable, but leaves you wanting more items to unlock and playmodes to explore. Beware, the dice are never on your side.

Don't trust a 90% chance, focus that ♥♥♥♥♥.

Felt more like a mobile game that pushes pay to play but nevertheless was entertaining in the moment while it lasted. Could've been so much more if given love, but now it's dead and abandoned. At least the dragons looked pretty cool.
