Easy to start but surprisingly complex. Worth the cost

Its a buggy unoptimized mess but i can ignore that for the most part, another problem being thatt he units respond INCREDIBLY sluggishly, Idk if thats intentional but it doesn't feel good. My main problem however is that the AI cheats a little too hard, AI always ignored resources and spawned them out of their ass in TW games but this one is to a nearly unplayable degree, Beat a nation back to their last settlement and it doesn't even produce food? No problem! they can still spawn a 20 unit elite army permanently while your struggling to maintain your own 20 unit elite army with 14+ settlements half of which are producing food at the highest level possible. At that point why even have the mechanic it just cheapens it makes you feel like you set that all up for nothing. I bought this for the legacy update and hopefully thats good but man this is probably the worst TW i've ever played.

Good game but the boss fights are lame as ♥♥♥♥, boss shouldnt have invulverability and make me wait for the coreographed opening to do any damage, if im dodging and hitting them in between thier swings it should at least chip, good game made boring to me due to this one thing

such an amazing game made ♥♥♥♥ tier by nothing but chinese hackers with dev tools spawning nothing but npcs to swarm you because they suck and cant handle getting ♥♥♥♥ on, online is a waste of money but the normal story mode in amazing

how do you make a 3 thats a downgrade to 2 in almost every single way.

-artificially withholding multiple teams already in the game and finished i assume to use for season passes but man your game isnt gonna last that long theres like 300 active players lol.

-no visible mutations, seriously wtf

-action menu is clunky af

-only 1 mvp for concede vs bb2 having 2 for winner

-no real punishment for concedes, bb2 you could only concede 3 times before that team was kicked out of the competition. i dont get the 3spp from the touchdown i didnt get to score but opponent loses nothing? nah homie this aint it.

-havent been given the option of hiring loners after the match and almost always have the misfortune of a loner getting mvp when I do have to take one. either make it so loners cant get mvp or make them hireable

-rules are already out of date as they have not implemented FAQ's

Let me start by saying I have thousands of hours in the original client playing since launch day on western release. At launch it captured me like only WoW had managed to do before, hitting marks I never even knew i wanted. I played this game religiously until the cash shop menace came. My guild, an opportunistic group of purple (pk) pirates were a small but very skilled and heavily geared group. As soon as the cash shop dropped players we were steamrolling the day before were 5v1ing us because they spent hundreds if not thousands on gear upgrades. After that it seems each month more and more blunders were rolled out making the game unplayable and favoring new players over older ones essentially alienating their original core player base. Eventually it become to much and it was time to say goodbye.

I will forever look back on this as being my favorite MMO even though I have far more hours in WoW and even BDO, however greedy and downright scummy business practices bundled with terrible direction choices have rendered this game that was originally an absolute masterpiece and WoW throne contender into an unrecognizable mess.

I still talk fondly with friends about those first few months sailing the open seas, stealing trade packs for a payoff that wouldn't even cover the consumables for the trip, claiming property to flip and hunting for illegal farms, that was some of the most fun i've ever had in an MMO, but that can't make up for what this has become and if I can write a review that may stop even one person from subjecting themselves to this dumpster fire of a cash grab then this review will have been worth it.
