game bases its entire premise on the AI having the same controls and limitations as the player, but then also has them input read and frame 1 feint attack

as a quick summary, fun. very fun. has its problems though.

the gameplay is good, fun and responsive. enemies are balanced, and objectives are various. your team will need to diversify and cooperate if you want to survive the higher difficulties.

performance is nothing to write home about. i have a 2080, intel i7-9700k, and 64g of ram, and on max settings im hovering around 60 fps (give or take 10) in normal play.

my first problem with this game is it's pricing. it's intended as a co-op game, which immediately means its not actually a $40 dollar game, because you're purchasing it for up to 4 total people (anywhere from $80 to $160). you can play solo, but again it's intended and balanced for multiple players. it's probably not a problem for most people, but its something to think about if you or your friends are strapped for money.

i don't personally think the premium currencies are so much of a problem at the moment, over my 16 hours of gameplay i've collected a couple hundred SC through exploring the map (for context, you can find every currency scattered around the map when you play). this implementation is honestly very good when compared to other games with premium currency, especially when you consider this game was JUST made.

equipment is very barebones and lackluster at the moment. i suspect due to the implementation of the battlepasses the idea is that the devs will be constantly adding new guns and gear over time, which makes me wonder if the price for new kit will slowly creep upwards to "encourage" people to buy currency with real money, or otherwise sink ludicrous amounts of time into the game to afford what they want.

always online immediately puts the lifespan of the game into question. i'm not personally aware of any statements made by the devs in that regard, nor am i aware of any end-of-life plans.

the addition of any anti-cheat in a co-op game is inherently a strange move, and people have been talking about this particular one. i'm by no means an expert on the subject, you may want to do some research and see if it's something you are willing to deal with.

something that really irks me is how most of the armor has this black-and-yellow contrasting style, but then also gives you a bunch of armors that clash with that, meaning you can't mix n match pieces with a bunch of sets.

game stability has been good for a modern game that's been out for all of 3 days, only had 1 crash. i've also had a ton of connection problems, but i believe those are caused by my ♥♥♥♥-assed internet and not the game itself.

overall, the game is fun, despite its problems. there's a lot of potential here for this game to turn out really good or really bad, and it all depends on how the devs handle the future.

combat feels bad. hit responses are poor, weapons feel like they're made of foam, and enemies are hit sponges. you just kind of flail at the enemy until they die. enemy attacks telegraph for eternity, you know exactly whats going to happen a couple of seconds before they come out. i held my shield up and poked at the first boss for 10 minutes, and the only attack that could consistently hit me was his little shove because it's unparriable. i like the idea of an actual VR game instead of a sandbox, but this just doesn't feel good.

blade and sorcery certainly has its problems, and this is a step in the right direction, but ultimately this isn't it.

inconsistent audio (some things are incredibly loud while the rest of the game is barely audible), no tutorial or explanation of how to play the game (atleast that I found, I fully admit the possibility that I missed it, but I don't think I did), weapon handling is jittery, moving around the ui is painful...

i *want* to like this game, and I think it has some potential, but it's not something i'd recommend in it's current state.
