While I haven't completely finished the game yet, I still wanted to leave a review for anyone looking to buy this game when it's not on sale. I'm really on the fence, and while I would recommend buying it at a discount, not at full price,

The story is interesting, the characters are pretty good, but overall the whole thing just feels lazily put together to me. There are only a few sprites per character, a very limited number of backgrounds, and sometimes the visual doesn't completely match what's happening in the story. If they don't have a visual that somehow matches the storyline at that point, they just show a black screen. Given that this is a "visual" novel, that feels incredibly lazy to me.

Also the translation feels weak to me as well. I don't speak Japanese, but the English translations are sometimes so weird that I doubt they're accurate. One character was "exuding question marks" at one point. Yeah, that's not a thing. Again, it just feels like a rushed, lazy translation that kicks you out of the story somewhat.

So, it's a thumbs down for me, unless you can catch it on sale. If the devs put in the effort to update the visuals and the translation, I could easily see myself changing my recommendation. But not as things stand right now.

Just finished this yesterday, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I played the original Zork back in the day, so I've enjoyed text adventures for many years. Stories Untold updates the idea and brings some new features that really enhance immersion and enjoyment of the story.

There are some creepy moment, or maybe more like strong sensations of descending dread, and some humor too. The puzzles are logical and enjoyable, but I wouldn't buy this game if you're looking for really challenging puzzles. Voice acting added depth and interest, and the visuals were very well done.

The ending has a nice, if not a little predictable, twist that ties the four stories together.

If you're looking for a light, fun, engaging, and atmospheric text-based game, it would be hard to go wrong with this one.

Overall, I really enjoyed this game, despite its sometimes uneven pacing, tedious dialogue, and apparently random interactions.

It's dark and moody (which was one of its best features) but also has a hopeful message. Some of the scenes are cringe-inducing (yeah, torture) while others are inexplicable (the long interview with the psychologist), but ultimately this is a story worth experiencing for yourself. The characters keep things interesting, the voice acting is good, and the puzzles are fun.

It's also a visually appealing game (not beautiful, but very nice) that has an interesting graphical style. The interface is clunky at times (mainly when trying to manipulate objects) but not so much that it's a distraction.

If you enjoy story-rich games, especially moody and atmospheric ones, you'll almost certainly enjoying experiencing this one. It's probably worth it at $9.99, but it would definitely be a bargain at any less than that.

I've only just begun playing, but the prologue is amazing. It's difficult to pinpoint exactly what makes it so incredible, but I think it's just the combination of graphics, sound, storyline, emotion, and imagination that create an incredibly immersive experience.

And, full-auto dual-wielding is friggin' awesome!

I'm a bit late to the party, but this is just an amazing game. Actually, it's more of a virtual world, populated with people, characters, and creatures of all types. There's always something to do, and the variety is nearly endless. I still haven't tapped all the potential of vanilla, so I'm looking forward to some of the DLC down the road.

Can't go wrong with this one.
