This game is literally all about you dieing over and over again until you know what in the ♥♥♥♥ you're doing. It's not as hard as people say but playing through the game for the first time can be really frustrating. This game doesn't hold your hand, but it doesn't try to cut off your wrist either. The story is very vague unless you take the time to dig through every description of every item or if you bother talking to the NPCs. You aren't told where to go but what you must do, its up to you to figure out what works best for you, how much you want to engage in the online play (which on this PC port it takes forever to connect to anyone without the use of mods), and how you wish to take on your enemies as you progress. There are quite a few optional places to go, lots of loot to find, and many enemies to kill along the way. Take your time and absorb all of the information the game throws at you, enjoy your first experience through the game. I recommend playing with a controller as the keyboard and mouse controls are just terrible without mods, if you want to play with a very active online community you should aim for one of the console releases of the game, though there is still a bit of a PC community for this game.

While not considered to be the best of the Counter-Strike games by the older players it is still all in all very good and lots of fun.
