too complicated for an idle game

Definitely one of my favorite factory building and automation games. The modding community is great as well, I really recommend galactic scale mod.

To give you an idea of how broken the simulation is: you can set good lap times with full wet tires on a fully dry track.
The game is also very easy, in the second season you just dominate, even if you picked Williams.

keyboard + mouse controls are horrible.
