Pals and guns with crafting and a dash of degenerate decisions. More fun than I anticipated and I look forward to seeing what the devs put out for the full release.

This is a fantastic update for Risk of Rain. I loved the original and I've absolutely loved the sequel. This is a phenomenal game that truly feels like RoR 1.5. Hopoo continues to pour their heart and soul into this franchise and it really shows.

This game is a fantastic evolution in design from the first one. I loved the pixel art style Hopoo put into the first RoR but the partnership with Gearbox to make it a 3rd Person shooter was well done. It's far too easy to get lost in this game for 5+ hours in a single sitting without even realizing it.

Edit: Especially after all the new updates, this game is continually proving to be loads of fun on my own or with friends.

Even with the minor PvP issues that come from a small player base, this is easily my favourite game this year. The campaign has enough replayability with all the different characters that there is a good amount of content even without PvP; especially with soon incoming extra missions and new characters being released. The PvP itself has its disadvantages, but as the player base is growing there are more and more people that are playing around the same MMR. Although in the beginning a lower rank player, CR 10-20, would be matched against a full team of high ranking people, CR 90-100. This disparity caused some initial issues, but has since been getting better. Too many people give this game a bad name from their initial experience of jumping into PvP after not playing the campaign or practicing any Battleborn. I highly suggest giving this game a try. Whether full price or on sale for a hell of a deal, it's well worth the price.

This is definitely a great game. I picked it up a couple of weeks ago and in the time that I've had to play it, I've loved it. The combat style is definitely something a little different, but I really enjoyed it. If you like open arena, 3rd person fighting games then this would be one for you.
