I don't go very political because there will always be someone who wants too add fuel to the flames. So i mostly stay out of it. I am very liberal, but i respect others who are not, they don't do the same. That reminds me of Japan. They still worship war criminals from WW2 there, mostly the older generation, and they don't really teach the new about anything that happened at the time in school. It's like they don't want them to know what crimes they commited. But it would be better if they were transparent about it, and let people decide about that. Some do express things in works of fiction (AOT is a prime example), but outside of that, they are very closed off. Only a handful know what happened, especially younger ones.

While it's a bit Ironic from them, given that the game is very inspired by Germany and Russia with a hint of lovecraftian themes. It's good that you understand how it was all forced and staged. Since typically people either not understand or deny that. Yugoslavia was one of the countries that suffered the most in WWII, and put the most effort into the common victory. It's a horrible crime what has been done with the country.

It wasn't good. But it was also very forced. Most of the countries didn't have a choice in the matter.
Something that led to a downfall twice for Serbia for independence (Both Yugoslavia in the later years and Kosovo right after.) However i harbour no ill will towards them. I was born during the war. 92', but i don't remember much. However as i said, younger generation, even younger than me still have hate in their eyes for something they never even witnessed, on both sides.
And politically, we are still in muddy waters, yet it has been 30 years since then. I made nice friends there. Most of us realise it's stupid to hate each other for nothing. But some people think otherwise.
As for Yugoslavia itself, i only heard the story of glory days when things were very peaceful, mostly from older folk. Easier work conditions, very relaxed atmosphere compared to capitalism.
