Only 3 hours in, and wow. Spotted a review of the game the day after the 1.0 release on a website, and the description of "Doom Eternal meets Cyberpunk" had me hooked from the get go.

I am absolutely loving the music, it's right up my alley. The graphics are good, real good. Pretty, but not taxing but man do I love the aesthetic. The guns are are good, the upgrades to your body are good, when enemies dies they turn into a nice bloody pulp. So many different ways to kill things, but by far my favorite is the chainsaw leg slide,

SO. MUCH. FUN! just sliding everywhere chainsawing enemies left and right, even the big tough ones aren't safe from your leg saw.

And I'm only the 3rd level in ... I know there's MORE guns and fun waiting for me!

My only gripe, and it's a minor one I feel, is the lack of a map, some of the heights I've gotten too and accidentally fallen have made retracing my steps to get back up ... interesting. Not impossible, and not a deal breaker by any stretch of the imagination.

Can't recommend this game enough though, it's SO good!

I picked it up on sale, but it's WELL worth the full price they're asking for!

I mainly use 3dmark to gauge my potential performance upgrade going from system to system. Plus the demo's are pretty.

Classic Doom gameplay returns, it almost feels like I time travelled back to the 90's and fired up Doom for the first time again. incredibly detailed levels, tough monsters, while they're basically the same as what you'd find in the classic Doom games, have been updated nicely for today's discerning gamer, ready to totally kick your ass.

Throwing in Funko Pop style collectibles was a fun touch, throwing in the classic Doom levels was genius.

What don't I like about it? I'd have to say the audio actually. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it at all, however Doom 3, while its gameplay was "meh" the audio was superb, in the sense that playing it late at night in the dark was truly a spooky experience in a good way. DOOM doesn't give me that feeling :( Again, there's nothing wrong with the audio in DOOM, it's just not scary.

At the end of the day though, I can't recommend this game enough. I've yet to hit the multiplayer, but honestly I never played any of the Doom games for their multiplayer aspect - that's what Quake was for. Love this DOOM.

Featuring the best in game VOIP in the business, awesome graphics, even by todays standards, the original commander mode that every subsequent game has copied, better flight controls & flight physics then BF3, you can't go wrong.
