Good with friends

This is not a terrible tower defense game. There are boatloads of "content" and seemingly active events.

BUT: It is heavily geared towards monetized transactions. Lots of pay to win options. Difficulty seems to come from overwhelming the player with zero time to react, encouraging use of costly "powers" that counter the condition, or paying to continue/replay a round. Sending a player back to the beginning if they do not choose to pay to continue encourages use of these items lest you feel that you have wasted your time. Definitely an addictive element as well, somewhat like Civ style "just one more round" magic.

It also does not help that the control scheme sucks, the default cursor is ludicrously hard to see when the screen fills with effects.

I can add nothing to what has to be a sea of good feedback. This series is monumentally good. Truly engaging and captivating. The characters feel real. It has its flaws, but so does everything that pulses with genuine life. A game made where the developers poured their hearts and souls into the game.

Punishing and addicting. Love it.

Still hoping for that 4x Burst Laser MkII run to pew pew.

I do not agree with the message. But I do enjoy with the joke.

At best: This is an incomplete game which shows promise but fails to deliver any meaningful fulfillment of its premise.

At face value: This is an hour's worth of compelling if ultimately pointless questions. Your character does not make choices. There is no real interaction. The game does not appear to be influenced in any way by what you say. There is no pause, save, or stats page. It seems that every "choice" I made resulted in an improvement in the kingdom at the end, with no noted drawbacks of any sort. Hardly believable, and why would I replay to see if I could improve since apparently I "won" the game?

At worst: This was an absolute waste of time, an incomplete story, and an utter disappointment. Game was released years ago, and there is no follow on. It does not matter that I got the "Fortune" secret word, because I cannot plug it in to a follow-on game which presumably would impart meaning to my "choices" in the poorly disguised questionnaire.

Bottom Line: This is a waste of time, a waste of money, and perhaps a waste of a good idea.

Yeah, it is not perfect. But damn is it ever great! HL2 works so much better in VR than I expected. Major, major props to the mod team!
