Star Trucker is above everything else, a trucking game. Slow, and patient. If you like Euro Truck, or trucking in something like Elite Dangerous, then this game is for you. The story missions have enough to play around in the space and do all of the things you'd want to do in the setting, and the universe is a very nice aesthetic of retro future designs. Only thing it could use is a bit more of a reason to continue the game in postgame, like another thing to spend money on, like a trucking fleet with employees or something.

Voidtrain is very devoid of fun. The crafting mechanic is so bad, that its actually difficult to find other games to compare it to. It would be like if in Minecraft every day you would need to dedicate a lot of time to chopping wood, and you could never not chop wood, or else all production would grind to a halt. You need to grind trivial resources at all times, and even if you turn wood into charcoal, You get next to no benefit from its presumed efficiency. I've played 16 hours, I don't know if I am at the end of the games progression, as something new happens every few stations, but I can honestly say nothing fun has happened. At all times you are held by ankle weights to stop you from enjoying yourself. Shooting section? Better manage your health, and craft armor plates, and grind out optimising your gun. Dungeon where you get to use hooks to leave the train? Takes a lot of time, extremely bland content, and very small reward. Wave survival? Low mobility leads to undodgable attacks that have to be countered with grinding out your gun to perfection, and crafting extra armor plates.
Even with friends, you are just condemning more people to not have fun with you.

Arguably one of the best games ever made.
Just know that if you go looking for a guide, or walkthrough, or answer to a question, you are ruining the game for yourself because you can only truly play it once, and once it is done you'll wish you never did.

Inscryption is a weird new concept of having a story based game fun for the first time. While dripping with style, it also respects your time and moves quickly letting any waiting be on your end for making strategy. The game is absolutely breakable, but it is the one that gave you the tools to break it, and you feel rewarded for doing it.

The game's faults come with its place as a story game. You can only really experience it once, and the only way to enjoy certain parts of the game is to fail intentionally to reset it. These things you can see past. The only real critique is that the FMV segments land sometimes, but are tonally bad at other times, as if he is 'acting like a youtuber' even off-camera.

This game is quite big and fascinating, but will turn off many people with how absolutely unforgiving it is. Because of the punishing difficulty, a lot of exploration boils down to either inching around and poking enemies as safe as you can at all times, or trying to platform and float around the arena like the wizard you should be, and suffering for it. More than other roguelikes you are even more at the mercy of RNG, and require a deep knowledge of the wand building mechanics to get ahead.

As I imagine the devs have no plans for it in 1.0, I would love for a modder to create a progression system where you can begin to make subsequent runs easier. Going from crushing difficulty, perhaps down to just a simple hard time. Like a currency you get from depth and kills that you can spend between runs for permanent upgrades. Hardcore fans will turn their nose at the notion, but as it stands now:
The game is too hard for normal people to even get a glimpse at the overall scale and detail of the world.

Massive disappointment for Alpha players who watched the game suddenly lose all its features, and for those who try it in its current state.
The reward the game gives you for completing regions is so small, that there by extension leaves you no reason to play the game itself. Combat never changes, you never gain skills. Its only shining moments is in the first few dungeons, when you have to make pulls, but the dungeons dont have many tiles and are underdesigned. The other saving grace of the game is the multiplayer is made easy as can be. Having said that, dont rope your friends into buying this, and don't buy it yourself.
It is basically an Idle Clicker Game without getting to see numbers get bigger.

Monster Hunter has always been a game about discipline. Animations get priority and can't be cancelled or dodged out of. This is a game that you should be engaging with every system in order to thrive, making item loadouts, gear loadouts, learning multiple weapons so you can know better weapon matchups. The downside is the game doesn't even try to tutorialize certain things for you to engage with them, its up to you to figure it out, or at least have someone tell you.
You cannot meet Monhun halfway, you have to play on its terms, and you'll find yourself having a blast doing so.

A true test for VR legs and motion sickness. Jet Island will suck you in and gives you enough to want to get more bosses, more power ups, and discover everything the island has to offer. Well worth the price of admission.

The controls make this game impenetrable. Multiple buttons are bound to doing the same things, but only one will be of the use you want, also leaving the game in an eternal tutorial. This is bundled with a horrible movement mechanic, of which you have 3 to choose from that are all on at all times.

Pros: Driving is really cool. Would love to see this in other games
Faces look good in VR

Cons: Truth and Lie has been replaced with Good Cop, Bad Cop, for some reason.
Terrible Controls
Terrible Movement
My hands are tiny and my head is huge and I must scream
Get used to reading very tiny text in VR

Rez remains timeless by the seamless transition into VR.
This version even goes above and beyond with many extra VR comfort and gameplay options, and Area X is a great addition for returning fans.
