The game has charm with it's characters, the stages, the music, and most importantly, the gameplay. However, that said gameplay will not be everyone's cup of tea to how the basic mobility of a fighting game usually works as a resource material. Personally, I think all of these just hits it right for me.

Unfortunately, I can't say the same with everything else about this game. There are some options that feel like they're missing; a Borderless or full screen mode. There's also no tutorial to reach you how the Rush System works as it's the most important mechanic to use if you want to deal huge amount of damage. Playing this game online was a disaster. The netplay uses rollback, but this feels about as bad as Street Fighter V's rollback to where the game can look choppy in a match. Doesn't really help that I can never finish a match due to the amount of bugs in this game. Had matches where the game freezes for one or both players or it freezes in time limit.

If you want to lessen about the story or play arcade mode, I still wouldn't recommend it as the bugs are in those modes as well and the game is asking for $40 which, you're better off buying other gameplay that were also inspired by classic fighting games, such as Pocket Bravery. You also have options to buy The Rumble Fish or the MvC Collection. Definitely wait for a big sale with this game...

Early Access Review
Tested on a Steam Deck w/ Windows 11 OS

The game feels more of the same from the first Mutant Football League. Same Run/Pass Plays, same Dirty Tricks, same Commentary, same Fields, and same Hazards. If you played MFL1, you're probably thinking you're not missing out much...and you would be correct. The game is pretty much MFL1.5

It is in Early Access, so I will give the developers some slack as there could be more content coming later in the future. If you love MFL2 like I do and want to support the devs for making an awesome Arcade style football game, definitely recommend it! The game is just as great as the first with 8 mutants in a team instead of the first game's 7. The music is pretty good and the game looks great as well!

A Blast from the Past!

Top Racer is one of the most underrated arcade racing game franchise from the 90s that holds a very cult following in Brazil. If it wasn't for them, we wouldn't have the spiritual successor series, Horizon Chase, AND this collection.

Yes, the graphics are dated and the gameplay can be tedious to newcomers, but the game is very addictive and takes more than just trying to avoid bumping on your opponents. It's very simple and backed up by their soundtrack to enjoy throughout each race.

Yes, there is online to play with friends or the world, but unfortunately, it doesn't have crossplay, so the playerbase is divided. Not sure which system will have the most players in, so pick a version carefully.

Overall, it's a collection of one of the most beloved racing games. Would recommend it for those who want to relive that childhood, but this may not grab attention to new players wanting to play another racing game, Top Racer 2 would have some RPG elements into the game if that peeks your interests, but don't expect too much.

Started from the Nintendo DS, to having a remake on the 3DS, and now released on the Steam and Switch, Etrian Odyssey is one the most classic and the most underrated Dungeon Crawler JRPG in the genre and it's very niche, under the shadows of Atlus' popular Megami Tensei franchise. This game is a classic style JRPG made with a retro-like dungeon crawler where you explore the map of each floor and make your way to the next, completing each quest given to you at the land of Etria.

There's very little to no story in EO, which may disappoint newcomers, but where this game shines in is most definitely the amount of Classes and Characters you can create in your Guild. You can create up to 30 Characters for your Guild with a variety of Classes to choose to your liking. You can experiment with a few Classes or just go all out with one Class; heck you can explore the dungeons solo if you want to. The possibilities are almost endless, and the adventure is much more fun to give your own story flair to it. That's one of the most fun things to do in the game, but the uniqueness is a feature that too advantage of the DS back then, and it is the Map of the labyrinth!

You will be given a Map of the labyrinths you explore that is unfinished and it is your job to fill it out however you want. From drawing walls, track your movements (that is autofilled by default, which I recommend), and place symbols around the Map to remember where parts of the floors are and what they do. This is a cool feature that works well with the DS and 3DS, but can get very tedious for some people who just want to explore and not having to take a few minutes of not moving just to fill out the Map. You can choose to ignore it, but you'll be missing out some big rewards that are required for you to finish the Map for.

The soundtrack for this game is awesome! Yuzo Koshiro is a great composer and having to hear his music in this game on the Steam version is a godsend! What is very unique about the OST is that he uses PC-88 hardware to create the tracks for this game to give it a more retro feel to the game. It makes the game more like pure old school RPG! The battle theme, the Dungeons, and even some of the events that happen in the game are all fantastic! Please give this soundtrack a listen!

Etrian Odyseey is known to be a tough game, which I do think this is one of the game's weakness besides the high asking price. You can play on the easiest difficulty and still get KOed easily. Well, here's one big tip: AVOID F.O.Es AT ALL COST. You will encounter them and you are no match for them to pick a fight with till much later in the game. These guys are made to be obstacles for you to try to not encounter them, like a puzzle. So please don't even think about facing them until much later. Other than that, you are good to go! EO's difficulty is just right for newcomers, especially with the quality of life changes that makes it better to play the the original, imo.

Etrian Odyssey is a fun game and I love it a lot! If you're looking for an old school, classic dungeon crawler style RPG, this is it! It's got a lot of stuff to fiddle around with and the gameplay is basic, but very solid. Basic gameplay and no story may be a huge turn off, but the amount of customization and exploration of the dungeons themselves is what makes this game very enjoyable to me and every other fan of this series!

Just wait for a sale if you haven't decided. $40 for this game is too much for someone who might be interested in a 16 year old DS game...

HEY KIDS!
DO YOU LOVE JAPAN?! CARS?!! ANIME?!!! INITIAL D?!!!! WANGAN MIDNIGHT?!!!! GIRLS?!!!!! AND BOOOOOOOOOOOOOBS?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then, yeah, this game is for you. Welcome to Kanjozoku, a Japanese Street Racing Indie game where you pick out a few Japanese styled cars that are based on their real life counterparts. You goal for this game is to...uh...well...become the best street racer in Japan? I don't know, there is no story in this game. It's a big MMO racer. Race the long, narrow roads in at the Shutokou Expressway, or the Wangan, drift in style, just do whatever you want in this game.

You have cars to purchase and you customize them to your liking. Go classic and focus on the potential of your car, or RICE THE ♥♥♥♥ OUT OF IT, to show off your friends. Engine Swap, Suspensions, Aerodynamics, there's a decent amount of things you can do. Once you out on the streets.......there's not real much you can do in the game. You can race and avoid the cops, but the biggest issue I have with that is the same issue I have with the Shutokou Battle/Tokyo Xtreme Racer series is that the gameplay can get VERY repetitive so fast. While it's not really a bother to me, it's the most pointed criticism people have about these games as it can get boring.

Handling is weird. It's an Arcade Racer, which I like because I love Arcade Racers, but the cars can feel too floaty and lightweight. Turning is pretty twitchy and you're gonna be running into wall, but it can still be kinda fun. Graphically, unless you have a beefed up PC, which I don't, the game can look very ugly. I have the Switch and Mobile version if this game as well and both look terrible with the Switch running horrible. The feels unfinished and that's exactly what is wrong with it. Unfortunately, the team seem to have abandoned the game, so there will be no more news about any updates and that's pretty sad to hear because everyone expected more from this game.

Overall, this is a janky game, but not too bad. It's worth checking out of this cheap, to be honest, Get it and see it fir yourself...

I have three words: PURE ARCADE FUN!!!

There is a reason why Grid 2 is still to this day, the best game in the series and one of my favorite racing games of all time! Race Driver: Grid is pretty great and so are the rest of the games in the series, but Grid 2 doesn't hide the fact that it's more driftier than the others and that's not a bad thing at all. I really dig the handling in this game far more than many other arcade racers I have played, and that drifting around those tight corners in circuit races are so easy, smooth, and satisfying! Cars don't feel like real cars and I love it. If you want a more simcade-ish focused racer, this is definitely not the game for you and I would look into Grid: Autosport instead (even though I think that one can appeal to both audiences).

Grid 2's got everything from the first game. Familiar tracks are in as well as the classes of cars. They are all fun to race on and the tracks are all great to get some practices in and dominate the race! There's isn't really much to say as I could dig deeper and give off a longer detail of this review, but I wanna say right now, GET THIS GAME!!! It is super arcadey and super fun for arcade racing fans like me!

A very cute but fierce fighting game that's all about those adorable dragons you will love! DracoFighter is a simple fighting game that tells the story of a Dragon who seeks for more of a challenge since he was known as the strongest on Earth. He wonders about the past life of the planet if there were any other creatures that are also as strong or even stronger than him, but to find that out, he would need a time machine. Sounds simple enough right? Well, not exactly. He suddenly gets interrupted by various creatures from getting is hands on that machine. He'll have to fight his way through to succeed.

While your story and gameplay are very basic, that's also what makes it more accessible and fun. That's the thing some people in the FGC do not understand. Fighting games don't have to have complex inputs just to feel unique. Why? Take a look at Super Smash Bros., from what this game took inspiration from. In Smash, you have characters doing different moves from different time frames even though most of them share the same input. It's what made the characters diverse enough to enjoy. Another fighting game that take that idea is Blade Strangers: a 2D traditional fighter, just like this game, that plays very similarly to Smash. Draco's Forward Attack is not the same as Plexie's Forward Attack. Both inputs are different from each other and feels unique as well. They don't even do the same damage either. It's stuff like that what makes me which more traditional fighters take note of this and a try a new IP that can use it. We would kinda see it with the screenshots we have saw from Street Fighter 6's Modern Controls, which is a step up, and some games like BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle and Dragon Ball Fighterz works very well on. Heck, even VIRTUA FIGHTER has the most simple controls in any fighting game at it's time while STILL being one of the most complex fighting games to master.

The only downside I can give this game is the lack of online and the menus, while being inspired by Smash, could use some work, but these issues I have are so minor that they don't really bother me all that much, For such a low price of a fighting game, you're gonna get something good and this one really doesn't disappoint at all. The fact that it's made by one guy is phenomenal and they definitely need the support!

In short, BUY THIS GAME!!!

A very simple, yet in-depth football game that is just so much fun to pick up and play. The gameplay is solid, the movement is fluid. It's an arcade football game that plays amazing! I would compare this game to the Tecmo Bowl series! It's kinda like a 3D Tecmo Bowl. Worth a buy!

Inspired by the arcade classics of Tecmo Super Bowl and Tecmo NBA Basketball, Basketball Classics is basically a mix of the two games. The courts are pretty huge, the players are very small, but the fast paced, and simple gameplay of 5 on 5 B-Ball is amazing! Definitely worth to play with your friends!
