Well, it's not the best solution but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ upscaling older games using this is worth it. Plus you have a lot of scaling type to choose from, you can go wrong.

Other than that, I managed to get BF2042 720p upscaled to 1080p using LS1 with NVIDIA DLSS turned on running pretty great! I'm getting decent 120fps with Ultra settings, on my prehistoric RTX 2060 (Not Super).

Hyedong hurt my feelings after all that fun. But in the end, :') This is like drama series but better. 10/10. Would pay if they have sequel with my fav angel

I paid around half the average price the majority of us the reviewers paying due to the fact that I live somewhere else with lower price tier. So for starter, I'm pretty satisfied with the game, given how good the game is. And by that, not all.

Storyline
Not as interesting as you would Imagine, even with my few hours gameplay, I can say there's a lot that can be improved. Now, given the standard price around $60, most probably people didn't not expect to get the poor quality silhouette style story telling. See the effort on Payday 2 with animations and sometimes even with real scene with real actor! Then there's the game, with confusing map and progress. This is more to linear path where you try to end the Season 1 with a list of missions consecutively. Why not put an indicator or path line on the map so people know what to do next. The worst of this all, the campground. It's the single most, down to the earth lact of intelligence design where you have to load the camp just to progress forward and meet this guys, that guy, this nanny and that nanny. And you have to load back to the main menu form the campground just to do the next mission. Poorly imagined game flow. The idea must be coming from some guy over the department that who think this is nice, while the others can't object or don't have the power to vote out this stupid campground. Remember Payday 2 safehouse? Yeah right.

Gameplay
This is where OTWD shows the potential. First right off, the movement is fine enough, I'll excuse the glitch here and there. You walk and run, feels somehow natural and more surreal compared to L4D2 (duh of course). Weapons are nice enough, just the modification/equip menu is a bit confusing when you have a lot in your inventory. The item you equip will go missing from your inventory but actually it's on your hand instead of the inventory and that's why it's no longer there in the first place. But to be honest, an indicator "Equipped" is better than removing it from inventory. The walkers are nice. I mean, really nice. They are dumb, prone to chase anything they can hear and most importantly, they explode. Which in my opinion is a plus when a group of 30 walkers trying to tagteam you the f out. Just get the fat one, we call it the boomer, and you'll be good for a few run.

Defense mode?
Every now and then you'll get the defense mode map where you protect from raid or walkers invasion, and to be honest, this part is very boring especially when the family raid your stash. Very unreal and not that fair given that they can suddenly just jump off from roof out of nowhere and just sneak like rats stealing your stash while you and your friend whining off about the previous raid attempt. But hey, at least this mode give you a bit relaxation, can totally go loud and survive.

Main menu and the menus
Confusing. Confusing. Confusing. From upgrading your character, to upgrading your camp, and the 5-6 others extra camp stuff like the depot radio clinic etc, it's very confusing for lower intelligent people. They need to figure out which part of the camp they need to upgrade in order to upgrade certain character skills. Not just character skills, but also core abilities which surprisingly enough, not so many people will notice it at first. To make it simple, the placement and everywhere, like there's no one in the house clean up all the mess. But after you get through it, you'll be fine. Just need to spend extra brain power to remember what is where and where is what.

Lobby and loading
You are ready in a pact of 4, you hit start and suddenly "looking for lobby"? Instead of creating a lobby with a popup box stating something like the rest 3 players are ready to join the lobby. Only state or show looking for lobby if it's less than 4 people. While in the lobby, the ready indicator is totally failed. I'm a Web Designer, not a good one but at least I consider a lot of user interface experience. When you're ready, the ready blip went from red to silver. Like why on earth it's made in such a way, the UI is making the whole $60 title is a joke. Those 4 blips or indicators could've been better with empty ring, with a checked mark each when ready, and bigger in size. Now let's talk about loading, oh boy I'm running it off on my NVMe drive, which is very fast and much needed as I'm the host most of the time. But the rest? Loading on HDD is taking forever! Some might just fail. Even after mission, loading back to menu is taking forever and my friend usually just alt+f4 out of it, get back in. Way faster. Imagine, the 2nd paragraph above. Have to load the stupid campground just to progress and then have to load back to menu and then have to load back into the next mission. In each of the step, one might fail and..triggered over the poor decision.

Graphics
Stunning. One of the best looking but could do better. I don't know why It doesnt look that nice on my monitor even with ultra settings. But as long as it's ultra, and above 60fps on a mid-entry gaming rig, it's perfect. The part where I have to complain is probably the lack of ultrawide monitor support. The game itself can run on ultrawide monitor with no problem. The menu looks fine, but the character outfit screen is poorly optimized. Can't see the head in ultrawide. The loading screen is stretched out badly, there's no 21:9 support for that. The story animation and scene is also stretched out. So anyone with 21:9 monitor, beware.

Game update/unpack
As expected, just like Payday. Unpacking and patching the files when updating takes forever. Peaking only around 100MB/s on my 3200MB/s 1700MB/s R/W NVMe drive. Imagine the unpacking progress on HDD with a dual core dual thread cpu. 3 times slower. But hey, just keep your steam running and auto update OTWD so you can have it ready to play at anytime/

Should you get it or nah?
Overall, even majorly I complained about how poor thing is, I'd still recommend this game if you're willing to wait for heavy optimization by the developer. I mean, heavy, a lot, huge amount of fixes. Get it today, or miss out the fun when the hype is already over. Else, if you have something else better todo, you can skip this for now and hope for at least a little discount this winter. I feel bad for those who paid $60 and getting this poorly optimized game overhyped. For me and the rest of my friends who paid roughly $23/$33, it's nice enough, and extremely worth it. 9/10, would bang the boomer.

Storm? 1/10. Reduce the spawn rate at least once every 6-7 days. Others, I really enjoy this game and it would be nice if there are a few AI to fight with.
