Definitely a great game to get. Haven't explored all the aspects of the game yet, but have played enough to see what the game has to offer. Recently the Horizons Add-On definitely spiced things up with some more features. With Odyssey coming soon, if you're taking a look at getting and exploring the game, now would be a good time to do so.

Now to the meat and potatoes of things. Quite a few things to do in ED as far as jobs and paths to take during your adventures throughout the stars. You could take on essentially space trucking, moving cargo under contract or through free trade of commodities and hit it big while also taking on the danger of pirates looking for potential prey to grab goodies from. You could hunt down targets if you wanted to, do combat related missions to vanquish your foes and use a wide variety of ships and loadouts to your hearts content. Mining and refining for metals and profiting through contract or sale. Be a people person and transport passengers to their destinations if you'd like. Even get into the nitty-gritty with other players in sanctioned and separate PvP Close-Quarters Combat in select ships via Arenas. So many star systems to explore alongside planets, stations, etc. So. Many. Factions and governments? You name it! If you opt to, you can pledge to powerful representatives in the different superpowers that are available. You can even gain rep with different superpowers to gain access to certain items and places too.

Now, all the goodies here can be a little tedious to get into. Things start off a little slowly but I promise if you put some time into the game and get the hang of things, you'll definitely be reaping the rewards the game has to offer. Also definitely try to take your time with things, since jumping headfirst into the fray might net you in some trouble and even a destroyed ship. So know your ability and what you're getting into. Can't tell you how many times I have learned the hard way on that.

Lastly, you can play however you like. Open online with players, private sessions, or even solo with just npc's. The best part of this game by far is the community. You can meet players in game, sure. But definitely reaching out to different forums, groups and pages on different sites and social media outlets is definitely the way to go. Many different communities for the different superpower alliances, discussion groups. Many aspects of the game are community driven and can also make for a unique roleplaying experience if that is your cup of tea.

So to finish off, this is one of those games that will take some time to dip down into. But once you're hooked, its hard to put down.

~Have fun and go explore Commander!~
