The very first. The very first of a floodgate of garbage anime games on steam. This was the absolute first. Yes, there were other games of this nature before it, but this one was the first game that was just low-quality trash that would be merely "testing the waters" for the other shitty games. Winged Cloud was new, Sekai Project was learning how to handle PR on Steam.

And then this game sold well, because Epic Redditors thought it would be really cool to have an ironic epic xD le weeb game on their profile. Now Steam is completely drenched in an endless deluge of extremely low-quality dogshit, and it will not stop. Steam Greenlight just makes Valve too much money, why would they stop?

Furthermore, irredeemably shite companies like PQube, IFI, and NISA think their awful meme-ridden localizations are welcome, because, again, redditors can't tell what is high quality and what isn't. Between the "depressed steam profiles" and Steam level 90+ failures that only collect friends, you'll find stupid people with no sense of monetary value or sense of game quality, resulting in shit like Sakura Spirit selling extremely well and sending the wrong message.

Am I guilty of the same crime? In a sense, yes, but ultimately no. I bought Sakura Spirit, wanting to give Winged Cloud's $9.99 glorified artbook a try, you know, being open-minded is a great way to learn about games I might like. This wasn't one of them. And when word spread that the game was actually shit, instead of becoming a silly collector title like Bad Rats (something no one actually seeks out and purchases), it turned into a badge of Epic, so that redditors can seem important; "Oh yes, I'm a WEEB, I play WEEB games haha do you watch bleach too? here's my MAL *list of trashy seasonal anime, none of which are older than two years old with the exception of TTGL or NGE* yeah i love nightcore, tokisaki kurumi is my (first of many) waifu(s) becuase im a tasteless fucking inbred."

I purchased this game soon after release, and idled it to one thousand three hundred and thirty-seven hours, that entitles me to say whatever I want about it. No, I do not recommend this game. Rather, I recommend you douse yourself in gasoline, jump into a blacksmith's forge, and immediately ram a pair of philips screwdrivers through your eyes.
