A fun 3/4 overhead survival game with a twist; you play as the vampiric predator in a world where vampires used to rule. Don't kid yourself though, you're not the biggest, baddest thing out there, instead you have to earn your way up to that status. Meanwhile you build your own bases, building them up to a veritable castle to accomplish your needs. At the same time, getting new abilities to make you more effective and much more lethal. If you're willing to put in the effort, a very compelling open world game awaits.

Don't let the NSFW tag fool you. This game is very much a Metroidvania-style game at it's heart and it plays very well with the controls being very responsive very fun. With various difficulty settings ranging from damage only when hit, tho vertical knock up (pun not intended) to castlevania-style knockback, even a one-hit kill mode you have options whether you want a more pure CV experience or not. There is even an SFW option as well if you want to avoid the adult content (achievements are unaffected). Overall a great retro-style game for more modern (and more mature) audiences.

Konami could have done a basic release of only a few titles but they went well beyond the extra mile for this collection. A large number of classic titles with solid, if not perfect emulation, separate JP and NA releases for most titles, reliable network play for some of the most notable titles, music, a gallery spanning the franchise, and more. If you are a fan of classic turtles game, this is a worthwhile purchase a full price, let alone on sale.

Right now, bar none the best MMORPG on the market. Though the PVP is lacking, the game holds your interest from start to the current end.

If you are a fan of the Streets of Rage series, you owe it to yourself to play this. Rock solid gameplay, a story very much in line with the series, a visual style that is very much a call back to the previous games in the series, and even the ability to unlock and play as the previous game's versions of the characters make for a very fun romp. That said, like the previous games, this does no pull punches. Even on the easiest difficulty you will find a solid challenge here and the harder difficulties can be just plain cruel.

For people who fell in love with Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and are looking for an updated title, look no more. A very well done title crowdfunded and development headed by Koji Igarashi, Bloodstained scratches the itch of SotN fans plus those of the Aria of Sorrow and Order of Ecclesia fans alike, combining the single entity exploration of SotN with the power from foes element that Aria and Order brought to the table.

"It's not Rocket science!" Well, it is. Loosely at any rate. Playing this game will not get you into a NASA or SpaceX job, it will give you a rudimentary idea of how space travel REALLY works and why both space craft and atmospheric craft are designed the way they are. While educational, it's also very entertaining where your failures are just as fun as your successes.

Taking ideas from previous Beat 'em ups like Final Fight and Streets of Rage, Fight'N Rage is a solid, fast paced addition to the genre. Mixing common staples with some advanced combos and a decent, if a relatively simple storyline, the addition of branching paths, different variants based of character or character combinations (made possible with AI assist) make for a considerable amount of replayability. The addition of various challenge modes that not only teach you how to pull off some advanced combos but test your skills to a master level will keep you busy for a long time.

That said, the "rage" is very apt regarding this game. It will push you to your limits if you want to get 100% and the final challenges are hair pullingly difficult. Accept that you will need a lot of practice and skill to get some of the tougher content done, though even relative newbies to the genre will find enjoyment.

DISCLAIMER: I am a backer of this title and paid $55.

A project started 4 years ago has come to fruition and I'll be honest, it easily makes my personal game of the year. Playing similar to previous titles like Ducktales Remastered, A Boy and his Blob, and various other titles by the company it shows that Wayforward has not lost it's touch with making platformers. Bright, cheerful and a difficulty that ranges from easy to difficult without being a cackewalk or mind-numbingly difficult. Often compared to Mighty No. 9, Wayforward delivered on something that Comcept failed to do so: a relatively smooth game that has very intuitive gameplay mechanics and stages that put the mind to work as much as the fingers. The bosses, while really large (HUGE in some cases) all have a very capable strategy to beat. To add, while there are cases of a large number of enemies, I never felt at any point where I was forced to take a hit, making untouchable runs a fun challenge. To add, as with most Wayforward titles there is a game clock so speedrunners are going to have fun optimizing this game. The music and voices are superb as always with variations of Jake Kaufman (Wayforwards cheif Maestro) and Cristina Vee's (the voice actor for Shantae amongst others and the lead singer) "Dance Through the Danger" interspecced throughout amid an incredible selection of other music.

As good as the game is, it is not perfect however. There are two nagging issues. The dances are not as dynamic as the tools from Pirate's curse though the mechanic has been improved from previous iterations, utilizing a radial menu system instead of button presses or timing cues. However there are three panels of four icons that cycle automatically, slowing down the gameplay. This can be sped up with a store purchase but that also has the drawback of accidentally picking the wrong dance. Second, like Ducktales Remastered the game is laid out in a stage format as opposed to a single world format like the original game or Risky's Revenge and each stage has a LOt of stuff to collect, often requiring special hidden dances and abilities. This necessitates a LOT of backtracking in the stages, in some cases being required to progress. Personally, not a huge issue but it can frustrate players. Both of these issues are relatively minor and only impact the game in marginal ways.

Overall, another fantastic game from an incredible team who have the support of their fans. People on the fence waiting to know whether it will be any good or not can rest easy knowing that Wayforward can still deliver a fun game with a mix of fast paced gameplay, humorous characters and story, and a bright, colorful world.

There is no better thrill than thinking outside the box to solve a problem and this game allows you to do it in spades. Your only restrictions is your own imagination and the dictionary. Always a pleasure to play and find new solutions to the challenges you face.
