An excellent extraction shooter that is like Vermintide, only better. Gunplay is fun, melee is brutal, and the levels are what I imagine 40K worlds to look like after Chaos corrupts them. Atmospheric, fun to play (especially with friends) and rarely easy, despite being fully Coop PvE FPS.

If only I had the slightest clue of what I was doing. I loved Transport Tycoon like games since, well, Transport Tycoon. And where TT had a learning curve, this game is just a overly complex mess with no clear tutorial. Refunding this one, and cannot recommend.

An excellent extraction shooter.

There was some kerfuffle about mandatory linking PSN to Steam accounts, but Sony has wisely withdrawn from that operation, and thus, I can only say: FOR DEMOCRACY!

Operencia is the hidden gem I didn't know I needed. I've always been a big fan of dungeoncrawlers akin to Eye of the Beholder, Lands of Lore, Might and Magic, Dungeon Master and the more recent Legend of Grimrock series. This game has a lightly digestible but similar taste to it, with an interesting storyline and challenging puzzles and fights to boot. A very enjoyable, quirky dungeon crawler I heartily recommend!

An incredibly fun and interesting grid based dungeon crawler. As a fan of the Wizardry, Might & Magic and Eye of the Beholder games series, I can heartily recommend this retro styled gem!

As an experienced DM for 25+ years, I never thought a CRPG could ever make you feel like you're playing the tabletop version of D&D. Well, I have to eat those words, or nearly, as BG3 comes pretty damn close to doing that just. You can't really summarize how well this game is done, but I will give you a short rundown:

The narration is like having a (somewhat cheeky) DM present, there are thousands of choices with hundreds of different branch off outcomes, the writing for NPC's and origin characters is superb, sound and music are spot on, well known BG and Forgotten Realms NPC's are extremely well done (Volo comes to mind, a non player character that has existed since the early nineties AD&D FR campaign setting, and I feel it is actually him in the game!), the setting feels alive and very much a hundred years later from the original games, with references all over, factions fighting eachother, species having different reactions to eachother.
There are many ways to approach challenges presented, and often creative solutions involving certain speech options or the environment are available. Can't get past a challenge with a fight? Try diplomacy, deception, sneaking or even seduction. Yes, that's right, you can challenge certain NPCs to have physical fun with your character to gain a significant advantage. You don't have to, heck you can keep your pants on and have just as much fun, but the fact that it is an option with actual consequences (as opposed to just sleeping with NPCs 'for fun') is amazing.
The game rarely holds back if you push all the way in whatever direction you choose to push. Speaking of pushing, fans of DOS 2 may be relieved to hear you can push, shove, trip, blow, shock and yeet adversaries off cliffs to your hearts content. Tough enemy? No problem, get them near a spot where they can take fall damage, half their hitpoints or eliminate them all together by just one push. Or burning their bridge. Or scaring them with a fear spell. Or greasing them making them go prone and thus vulnerable. Or destroy the scaffolding they are on. Or dropping a burning chandelier on them from the ceiling. Etc. Etc. Etc.
And then there is the characters you care for. Your choices matter and will affect characters you grow fond of. So well done. And the books you can find filled with lore and hints on how NPCs relate to the world, how to get past certain traps, and other cool stuff...

This review doesn't cover half of it, but I hope it gives you an impression of how I feel about it.

I sincerely hope this isn't the **last** D&D title Larian churns out, as that would be wasted potential across the board.

10/10 Fully recommended for anyone interested in good turn based D&D roleplaying.

An excellent battlefield shooter very reminiscent of Bad Company 2 at times, but made by three guys instead of a cash grab nonsense company. Highly recommended for it's sheer fun alone!

A relentless, harsh game about a company of mercenaries in a low magic fantasy world, easily on par with titles like Darkest Dungeon. Mercilessly difficult, easy to learn hard to master, and thus worth your time. 10/10

A fun, squad based coop L4D clone in the Warhammer Fantasy universe. Also, the banter between the characters never gets old. Recommended!

While one could argue the original game has no meaningful conversation trees, merely a "linear" story and quirky voice acting, its qualities definitely overshadow its shortcomings.

For one the game is one of the most faithful adaptations of 5E D&D tabletop rules I have played (e.g. BG3). This means that if you know your tabletop rules, you will recognize them doing exactly what they are supposed to, with only minor adaptions to fit it into a CRPG. I, for one, love that feature.

Secondly, the turn based combat is second to none. The only reason we have turn based combat is because of tabletop RPGs like D&D and therefore if it's well done in this type of game, it is a joy, which is the case. It's great to plan carefully during a fight, considering the limited resources you have, and then seeing dice rolls mock it up right up to the last roll, winning it by the skin of your critical hit (or, in some cases, not!). It is as close to the tabletop combat experience as one can get.

Third, while the visuals aren't AAA, they carry a certain charm. To me, at least, being the old far that I am, graphics are secondary to gameplay, but in this game the graphics are just right. It's an indie title after all, and the time spent on graphics was clearly not priority one, but where the artists could excel, they did. Some of the locations are downright stunning and the use of height differences (and your option to try to push enemies off a ledge!) is a welcome change from all the 2D handpainted stuff we saw in classics like Baldurs Gate (OG). The graphics support the design very well.

Lastly, the character options are enough to keep you interested. When leveling, do you take a feat or extra ability points, do you take a utility spell or a combat spell, etc. Crafting is equally interesting, though can be frustrating if you cannot get a high enough reputation to buy some of its ingredients or schematics. Still, it is fun: Do you craft those special arrows, or save your special ingredient for a melee weapon you might make later..?

Overall if you are a Dungeons and Dragons player, and you like a good dungeon crawl with puzzles (I should mention those are very well done too!), monsters, traps and treasure, and you don't care too much for in depth meaningful conversations (because hey, we can have those at the table during live sessions), this is the DnD game for you..!

Highly recommended!
