Oddly enough, I actually like this game, to play with my friends, even though it's not normally my kinda game. It was even gifted to me by a friend just so I could play with them! I even ask to play instead of having to be dragged screaming into the game...

Edit for reversal of Negative to Positive:
Thanks to Sony for listening to the Gamers for once... and bending the knee. We get to keep our game and with no required linking to PSN! Next time, don't F' it up to begin with!

Hopefully, SONY will also soon be returning access to all the other Helldivers around the world that already got blocked, from the game they already own and love, just for living in a country that doesn't have access to their stupid PSN network... We need them!

Now, Back to Helldiving for Democracy!

9/10
As weird as it sounds, this game is great. You just sorta zone out and just listen to the water & ambient sounds. It's oddly relaxing, satisfying and meditative.

However, it does need a setting that turns off or changes the % point at which things are considered clean. You get a huge dirty object with a section that hasn't been cleaned yet, but when the object reaches like 85%-ish, it just is considered 'clean enough' and the big section of dirt just disappears and you get that "but I wasn't done yet!" feeling.

UPDATE: Full release now. Review still stands 9/10, would make everything all wet again. The 'story' went in a really weird direction(yeah, believe it or not there is a story in there). Not sure about that part.

The auto-finish cleaning thing is greatly improved. Now it finishes at a fairly satisfying point that you don't notice it too much. Not a negative anymore.

I hope there's more to come for the game. This stuff is fun!

Once took a Patriarchy and turned it into a Matriarchy. My own daughter became a serial killer and killed my son and 8 other people, including my wife, before being discovered, making her my only available blood heir. Choice was to punish her or ignore it to keep her as heir. Weeell... Long live Queen Serial Killer. She then ended up having a bastard child from an affair with her own son and eventually was stabbed to death by a cousin from a neighboring kingdom after winning a territory war they wanted instead.

Fun stuff - 10/10

Zoo Tycoon was my thing back in the day and now Planet Zoo is the modern day replacement for it. It nailed practically everything, so far. Animals are adorable to watch. You tend to get lost in building and details, forgetting there's a zoo to run... till you notice there's 15 red notifications on the side and hear protesters walking thru that you swear are yelling "Where'd the p00py go!?" - oops! Definitely lose track of time playing this one. Worth it.

Plus, it's kinda educational. If you pay attention, past the adorable animals & the zoo mechanics, to the massive amount of information the devs actually put into the game about every animal, you can learn about endangered species, why they're endangered and other issues.

But it's not perfect. There's no such thing as perfect. There's still a few bugs, mostly with staff - like one with vets refusing to be vets and not wanting to go to the enclosures, nothing major or game breaking though.

Now, if we can just eventually get stuff like actual aquatic animals such as whales & dolphins going forward, and without going the ridiculous route Zoo Tycoon did with things like dinosaurs and unicorns... it'd be even better still.

Almost 700 hours of EA play time and still looking forward to playing the full release. Been interesting watching this game go from what it was when I started to what it is now. It's worth the price.

Also, totally nothing scary in the deep dark. Just go right on in there, it's k. I promise. Trust me. Completely safe. :D

Update: Loved this game, start to finish. The environment, the creatures, even the full story... beautiful. No reason to rush this game or rush the story.... just take the time and explore. Still worth every penny and minute spent playing this game. I can't wait for Below Zero.

Also, still totally safe in the dark... Yep. Nothing that wants to eat your face or anything.

Decent, quick time killer. Pain in the ass to play, however. A lot of trial and error, losing, frustration, RNG, but those few times(and I do mean few) you succeed in making the world suffer, it makes it almost worth it (especially when specific random events happen). Almost.

Super stupid that progression is locked behind levels. If you can't destroy the world with one disease type, well ♥♥♥♥ you. You can't skip and come back to it, or play with any others, until you beat that one. Which also means no disease perks for same reason. So, you play same disease over and over and over and over... hoping the random events give you 'the perfect storm' or at least don't ♥♥♥♥ you over too hard.

7/10 would attmpt to disease planet again... and again... and again... and again -in short intervals, with long periods of time in between.
