This game is ancient in almost every way, but the charm is very much there. If you're able to let your imagination do some heavy lifting, it's easy to get lost in this world!

This game is a worthy heir to skyrim, which has sat atop my favorite game list for a decade now. Everything you love about bethesda games is here, but the RPG systems and writing level harken back to oblivion and morrowind in how interesting they are.

Do NOT play this game looking for Elite: Dangerous or Star Citizen. It's a bethesda game with space as a backdrop, not a space sim made by bethesda. On .that note though, the ship customization and flying are good, and shockingly I've had ZERO physics bugs with ships after 99 hours.

Regarding bugs as well, this game has its share (2 crashes on steam deck because obviously, and only one on my windows pc), but relative to bethesda games it's the most stable thing they've ever made. Performance wise, I play at a locked 30 with a 2070 max Q, and an i7-9750h. I wish it was higher, but the motion blur is good enough to make the 30 feel smooth.

The gunplay is much better than any bethesda game. Don't go in expecting Doom, but for the first time a .50 cal feels like a .50 cal when you're firing it. It's great.

The visuals are amazing, but the character models DO fall flat. Especially the filler NPCs, but honestly I think I'm stockholmed into ignoring Bethesda NPC faces. The scenery, on the other hand, is amazing. I wish that I had a desktop to play this on and crank everything to ultra, because even at low it's a feast.

Story mission is pretty decent, and I felt engaged. The SIDE QUESTS THOUGH. Oh my LORD they're long, well-written, and overall engrossing. I would sit down to play, and play a whole side quest chain in one sitting, for 10 hours straight.

This game is everything I ever wanted from Starfield (Minus the ability to fly around on the planet, but 1 missing feature isn't so bad), and if you like elder scrolls and fallout, this game is for you too.

Now we just wait on the mods to add in aliens and whatever else people can imagine.

This game, while having its flaws, is absolutely incredible. If you like 4x space strategy games, where you can roleplay as your dream empire (be that a humanitarian xenophile nation, or a xenophobic group of religious nuts with psionic powers).

It's ridiculously fun for almost every moment, as long as you can look past the flaws. It is an absolute clickfest, and you'll be micromanaging tremendous amounts of moving parts in the late game while the pace grinds to a halt as your computer wheezes under the strain of a thousand solar systems (literally).

If you have a degree of patience though, and are looking for a versatile, fun, and in depth opportunity to live out the space opera of our dreams, then this is the game for you.

A solid and vast game! Not the deepest story or characters, but that's not what you're looking for in this game.

absolutely incredible, although it would be nice to have a third person option.

An update that provides a much needed facelift and fixes some interface issues. Would love to see this for morrowind and oblivion.
