Sometimes, in the dead of night when I wake up at 3AM, I can still hear the echoes of the battlefield.

Armed and dangerous!

This is great for those like me who are looking for a non-committal, non-story-based, cozy and relaxing collectathon. Plus cats! I'm drawn to cat games.

Sometimes the physics are a little glitchy, but I appreciate the detail put into a small enough map that it doesn't overwhelm the player to explore and remember landmarks. The achievements are fun to chase after, and overall, it's a great game for a rainy day to just turn my mind off for.

I came across this game at a convention table and fell in love with the graphics. The developer was there and he was really nice, so I was very excited to add this game to my wishlist and play it immediately :)

The game is short and sweet - all in all, I spent 44 minutes on it and completed all side objectives. It was relaxing and cozy.

Pros:
- Cute graphics; who doesn't love meese with eyes that don't look in the same direction!
- Cozy pace; doesn't feel like you have to rush through the game

"Cons": (More like constructive feedback)
- Just mild spelling mistakes and grammar booboos
- The game worked fine on my computer, but was a little buggy on my husband's computer, where the letters didn't load in all the way, and the end scene froze for him :( so I had to give him a recap because he didn't save frequently
- I would suggest perhaps putting in a visual cue that pressing the "X" button on the controller moves the dialogue forward because in the beginning, I kept pressing "A" because that's what I'm used to doing in other video games.

Overall, a really fun game! Would recommend :) 👍👍👍

It's not a game. It's a lifestyle.

My boyfriend bought me this game to kill some time. It was such an incredibly satisfying experience. Although the puzzles aren't hard, the mechanics of the game are really different than a lot of PC puzzle games. I'd definitely recommend it - even a second play through of it ;)

'Nyooooom'.

Pros:
- Great, unique mechanics
- Story rich
- Cute graphics, good frame rate
- Casual

Shelter came in a Humble Bundle for me eons ago. When I first got it, I fell in love with the graphics immediately. Shelter follows the story of Mother Badger and her five cubs. You have to overcome the challenges of the wild to ensure the survival of your litter. It's a quick game, with about an hour of game play, but a lasting impression.

The game is moreso a moving art piece. The plot progresses slowly, changing only when the chapter shifts. Essentially, you set the pace for the game and you have limited freedom in exploration. Overall, the maps are pretty linear, but you can sniff around.

The mechanics for the game are simple, and it's pretty low stress (apart from wanting to save your cubs). Feed them, feed yourself if you choose, and move forward.

Pros:
- Artistic masterpiece
- Great sound track; super relaxing
- I got pretty attached to all of the badgers

Cons:
- Plot driven, but not a plot heavy game. Thats a pro or a con depending on what type of game you're looking for.
- Pretty short game play. I wish it was just a little longer.
- The flow between chapters appeared choppy at times.
- I got pretty attached to all of the badgers :(

Shelter 2 is an expansive, open world game that follows the growth of four baby lynxes and mother lynx. The visuals are pleasant and artistic, making the game feel more like an extended art piece. The gameplay can be lacking, though, as the only goals are to hunt prey to feed your young, and optionally collect objects spread throughout the world.

I had pined after this game after playing Shelter, so I came into it with expectations that it would be similar to Shelter, but with a bit more. While Shelter offered the story telling aspect related to nurturing young babies as a mother, Shelter 2 is does not have a solid plot (apart from cubs-grow-up).

Hunting: As the mother lynx, you must take into mind the remaining stamina and consider if that will be enough to run after a prey. To catch a prey, you have to intersect their running path (or sometimes you will randomly pick up a frog). You have the option to offer the kill to your young, or to eat it for yourself. However, I've found that it isn't necessary for the mother lynx to eat or drink at all throughout the game.

Visuals: The seasons have good pacing, and the game feels like there's always a little more for me to discover, as if on a walk. My only criticism is that the collectibles are often hard to distinguish from the environment and because of that, it makes the task seem almost too difficult. There are too many collectibles, and some are so small and easy to miss.

Plot: I appreciated the ability to name your cubs are the beginning of the game. Unlike Shelter, Shelter 2 made me feel more attached to the cubs. I felt the a similar heart break to Shelter when losing a cub, but with a larger magnitude as they felt individual and real. The 'plot' itself is mainly driven by texts cut into the game as the cubs progress through their adolesence.

Overall, I'd recommend the game for extremely casual gamers. It's relaxing, apart from some of the threats present to the young, and the ending credit scene ties the game together pretty well. Go into the game with an exploratory mind set, rather than a completionist mindset and just enjoy the scenery.
