A classic of the genre, holds up to this day with an excellent soundtrack and a decent length campaign.

A wonderful, Impressions Games-inspired take on the 2D Isometric city builder. Many concepts and system are lifted from those games, yet many more are entirely unique, reworked or outright improved. The game successfully creates a good atmosphere in a steampunk industrial revolution that absurdity never crossed my mind. And the sheer ammount of hours possible from this game...I've spent several hours on the tutorials not becuase I'm bad, but because there is so much to learn. I offer a hearty reccomendation, although you may want to note some users are experiencing technical dificulties at this time (shortly after launch).

I've been playing Gear City for a fairly long time, with 25+ hours logged before it was even on Steam. During this time the game has added a lot of content, stability and polish. The UI and graphical aspects of the game are not the strongest, however the simulation and "tycoon" aspects are very fun. The difficulty level is just right and the AI can pose legitimate challenges in your companies future. Whilst you can play this game pretty much anyway you want, realistic options give you realistic results. For example, producing luxary sedans in Kenya in 1900 is probably not a sustainable business model. At any rate, I've enjoyed my time with GearCity and will continue to do so as the game is perfected even more.

A fantastic simulation/management game! A quality entry to the genre made distinct by its topic. Everything it does, it does well. With such a great, fun base, and such responsive developers its hard to imagine this game could go wrong. You really get into the roll of prison architect, but its much more; you run the prison in every way. You are also the landscaper, warden, and the law.

An immensely deep historical sandbox, with unlimited replayability and perhaps a tad too much DLC.
