the game is cute and the dog is very very cute. i did get a bit stuck at some point but even then it only took a bit over an hour to beat. i wish it was a bit longer and would gladly pay for more.

I was really excited to play this game. One of the reasons was because it was advertised as having an interesting story and lore and I enjoy it when games are story heavy. However, I can't even tell whether that claim is true or not. In its current state, the translation/localization is incomprehensible. I have no idea what is going on. At first I thought I was just stupid and not paying enough attention. Maybe, I thought, it was because I'm not really familiar with Chinese legends or mythology. But no, it's just because the translation is bad and it just keeps getting worse as I continue. Grammar errors all over the place. Whole sentences are sometimes a garbled mess. Characters keep changing titles and pronouns... It's frustrating. There were other features that I was really excited about such as housing and life skills, but they require a higher level or being at endgame, and with the story translation in its current state I'm not sure if I want to continue slogging through the leveling process to get there.

I realize I could just skip cutscenes and continue on my way but unfortunately the translation issues extend beyond the story. A lot of tooltips and menus make no sense and are sometimes not even translated at all. I just completed the pet tutorial and learned nothing.

All that said, the gameplay itself is fine. The combat is pretty fun once you get the hang of it. It seems like there are a lot of things to do beyond the typical PvE and PvP. I also really like that the cash shop is only for cosmetic items. If you're the type of player who doesn't really care about story or lore, you will most likely enjoy this game. However, if you're like me then you most likely will not... or will at least have to lower your expectations.
