The first game in the series is one of my favorite games and I was worried that the sequel wouldn't live up to my hype but it surpassed my expectations in almost every way. Any complaints I could have are outweighed by how amazing this game is. Genuinely one of the best games I've ever played and such an amazing continuation of Henry's story. Literally the only complaints I have are that the combat breaks on slight slops and inclines and that they changed the combat from the first game taking away my like 550+ hours of muscle memory but that adds more balance since in the first game you mostly just stab people in the face non-stop and hammer the master strike button but now you can't face stab and you have to try for master strikes.


Probably the only 10/10 game I've ever played

No matter your system specs this game will run like garbage at any settings that make it look decent now adays which is really weird because I remember it running at a solid 75 FPS when it came out. Disappointed to want to replay it and finding out it runs like hot garbage on my newer computer than it did back in the day.

To preface, Elden Ring itself is one of my favorite games now and it's what got me into play Fromsoft games after years of hating them, though I still don't like Dark Souls very much. This DLC is kinda hot garbage. It's not that the bosses or any of the areas are really that hard it's that finding the secret paths to 40% of the map is where you'll spend half your time or more. Most the bosses are just ok, some are actually pretty cool. The final boss is just kinda annoying and there's no real skill involved in beating him you just kinda get 1 shot sometimes or take 1/3 your health bar other times, there's no sense to it. It only took me like 30-40 tries to beat him but it's not like Melania where you learn her moveset and how to deal with it, most of it was just dodging and healing and hoping you get enough hits in. His big attack that mirrors his main game attack would sometimes 1 shot you and other times it wouldn't with no real sense and half his phase 2 attacks drop your frame rate to single digits which prevents you from doing any inputs. Most the DLC is stuttery and you'll drop frames everywhere no matter how good your computer is, I think it has to do with the amount of transparency in the skybox that's always there combined with the particle effects everywhere. The new consumables are cool and the story additions are decent but especially the ending where you beat this big BS boss and then get a single cutscene after is kinda stupid. None of the new weapons are better for my build than the Bloodhounds Fang and only 1 suit of armor was worth using either. Genuinely disappointed.
Overall 4/10. Play it if you want more Elden Ring but don't expect to like it very much.

The game so amazing Valve kept it from you for weeks! Literally, Valve stopped the launch because they didn't want you to play the game of the century! I've been waiting, what like a year or two, following Goba on twitter and I'm so happy to finally get to play Carter's Quest! Buy it now! Buy one for your friend! Then buy 5 more! That's not a suggestion do it now!
For real though the music hits that itch in the back of your brain that only games like Dark Cloud ever really scratch and the story we get so far in early access is great and everything about this game will just hit you in the "born in the 90s" hole. It's like if the N64 and PS2 had a loving relationship and had a child that was raised with love and care and that child's name was REAL WEB LEGENDS: Carter's Quest.

no subtitles, starts on the wrong monitor, and assigns incorrect numbers to your monitors so getting it on the right one is hard. Doom shomgtnum.
At least it comes with the older games so you can check those out, native 3440x1440 tho so that's nice, just wish it had subtitles so I could play it since half the time you can barely hear what anyone is saying over the ambient sounds and sound effects

The whole time I kept expecting it to get really good but it just kept being really OK the whole time. Looks beautiful maxed out with RTX and the works and ran fine, can't remember any bugs. One of the weirdest things I have a complaint about is that the bathroom stall doors make no noise if you run into them and they slam open which was something I noticed in the first five minutes of the game and you go into bathrooms to find loot a lot so I thought about it the whole time. I got it on sale for $10 and I got at least that much worth of enjoyment out of it so not upset about that it's just not a must play by any means. Best part is the tie in missions, not sure if they're spoilers so I won't mention what they tie in with. Play it on gamepass or get it on sale but don't expect it to be amazing

Look, if you're reading a Dark Souls Review in 2022 it's because you played Elden Ring and came here cause it's where the hype started. I've been trying to enjoy Dark Souls and other From Soft games since Dark Souls came out and I have never been able to until Elden Ring. That being said I barely enjoyed Dark Souls. It's still the same game it always was, for all the good and bad. If you came from Elden Ring play Dark Souls 2, 3, Bloodborne, or Sekiro instead and then come back to Dark Souls 1. Dark Souls 1 is basically every part you didn't like from Elden Ring. It's like whiskey where even though it's good it's harsh and almost terrible. It was decent either way but give it a pass if you're just starting Soulsies or just finished Elden Ring

Game doesn't work on Windows 10 and none of the "fixes" work. Still have never been able to play the game at all. My 3 hours on record are literally all from trying to get the game to make it past the logos for the past like 7 years or however long I've had it.

A boring and overly long entry into the series, the worst MGS game I've ever played, and now it doesn't even work properly for me to attempt to give it another chance. At least it lets you blast "Take on Me" while killing people with a helicopter mounted minigun. Still an awful excuse for a MGS game.

I always forget how much I hate this game, and then I play it again and remember.
