Dark, gory, grim, brilliant. This is a thinking man's game. A man who thinks dark, intrusive thoughts. This experience is definitely one worth seeing and feeling.

Just finished the game and here are my thoughts:

Graphics - 10/10
Insane levels of detail, very hard to find any low fidelity models or textures. Pretty advanced techniques used here for character rendering which really brings them to life, including the monsters. The marketing really thrived entirely on this aspect of the game TBH. Only complaint I have is that the TAA sucks and makes everything too muddy, killing the high fidelity textures and model details. I had to crank up sharpness and other corrections via Reshade to be able to fix this problem partially.

Sound - 9/10
Great sound design but enemies can get a bit too screechy sometimes when you are surrounded or when there's too many in one place.

Story - 9/10
Contrary to what others are saying, I quite liked the story and reveals, neat plot tricks and good pacing. Very similar to Dead Space, yet different and the plot suspense along with the graphics and characters is what kept me playing till the end.

Characters - 8/10
The main characters were pretty great and the great motion capture and voice acting made me connect and care for them. Villain was great early on and then majorly under utilised later, this game could have been very different and had a much crazier story if they actually used Sam Witwer's character properly.

Atmosphere - 8/10
Pretty good atmosphere, sense of dread, forced narrow FOV which was bad though but used to make the player feel confined in that world space. Everything felt too samey tho, too much brown and grey everywhere. That did get a bit of a welcome mix up somewhere in the middle and towards the end though.

World Building - 7/10
Nice slow build up of plot reveal via recordings, only problem is you have to manually find and play them from the inventory every time. Could have also used video recordings or other tactics but didn't. Similar to Dead Space yet inferior to it in this aspect. World has secrets and a small amount of side exploration. This could have been expanded greatly to make the game feel less linear.

Performance - 1/10
S H I T E (as of 15/01/2023) Was S H I T E on day one and is still S H I T E but a bit less. I played like 70% of the game on a 3070 and the rest on a 4080 and both times it ran like absolute S H I T E on 1440p with RT enabled. My 4080 managed to brute force the game at a high frame rate with RT off (anywhere between 55 to 200 fps) but the 3070 was struggling with it at times even with RT off on DX12 (tons of drops below 60, many times down to the 30's). DX11 remained stuttery post patches so had to use DX12 which was better and much smoother compared to launch day. CPU and GPU utilization are not at all good due to which there are huge frame drops and performance is way lower than it should be at many points in the game. Wildly varying FPS in the same small area depending on where you are looking. Completely unoptimized and definitely not just a "clerical error" (if you know, you know). Oh and FSR doesn't actually do anything and there's no DLSS 2 or 3 which could have saved this game's entire performance singlehandely.

Gameplay - 6/10
Hit and miss, sometimes good, sometimes bad, sometimes ugly and tiring and repetitive. Combat was just about ok (too many QTE's tho), guns were decent and the gravity gun was really the only cool and fun thing (especially when upgraded). Combat gets old fast tho especially on boss fights which were just there to create tension and feel tough but in a very basic way. Really basic combat design and mechanics, very restrictive, could have been a lot more fun, at a point I could close my eyes and play cos the dodge system was so predictable. Upgrade system felt like a challenge in a good way since you really had to plan ahead and save up for upgrades due to the lack of credits and resources (which felt balanced for a survival game) and when you finally do get the upgrade it did feel like a good investment and worth it. New guns were spaced out decently but could have done with more innovation. Environmental and exploration mechanics (like floating a box around) felt underutilized. Vents and shimmy gaps got old fast. Stealth was half decent.

Overall - 7/10
Final verdict is that you can play this for the good things (graphics, plot suspense, characters) but get it on sale and wait for it to be fixed completely (especially RT/FSR/lack of DLSS). It also reeks of consolitis and is a pretty terrible PC port. Terrible menu navigation, can't even change graphics settings after actually starting the game, only from the main menu. Limited control mapping (no 1234 for individual weapons) which feels extremely restricting and difficult to use in the middle of combat.

Terrible PC port, graphics look 10 years old on max settings @ 1440p on an RTX 3070, no option to turn off that terrible Chromatic Aberration or Depth of Field that literally blurs characters in cutscenes, NO SLIDER FOR BRIGHTNESS EVEN (I CAN'T EVEN), can't even control the menus with a mouse, keyboard bind options suck (no bind to even change radio tracks), can't even hit Escape key to go to pause menu (had to google it and guess what, it's the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ TAB key), terrible soundtrack, jittery pre-recorded cutscenes even. Like wtf EA. Challenge Everything? More like challenge the player to even use the menu or play the damn game. Refunded. This is crap compared to things like NFS 2016, Rivals, Hot Pursuit 2010 which were actually good looking and fun games to play. This should be called NFS SHEET and YEETED off this planet.

Pretty great game! It's like Half-Life, Bioshock and System Shock together! Plus a dash of Dishonored of course! :D

It's like the first game was the demo and this is the actual game. Take the first game and raise it to the power of 10. That is this game and it's amazing! A must have for any LOTR or Tolkien fans. Yes, they take liberties with the story and lore but who DOESN'T wanna fight a Balrog and see how Minas Ithil became Minas Morgul? :D

With so many iconic places from the lore of LOTR (and some new ones), this game is literally 5 times bigger than the first one. And it really pays off. It's no holds barred, fantasy fun that the cinematic trailers TOTALLY do justice to. Each area, complete with its own fortress, is almost as big as the ENTIRE MAP of one region from the orginal game and is SO MUCH MORE DENSE.

The Nemisis System has been amped up and the new orc generator is amazing with a huge variety of interesting and sometimes very unique and memorable orcs you will come across.

Performance is pretty decent too. I highly recommend this game for those that loved the first one and if you didn't this might be the one you end up loving!

Note: About the online stuff and microtransactions, I simply never accepted the forced TOS for online related stuff. All I needed to do was press spacebar 2 more times everytime I entered or exited the game. You definitely don't need to do any online stuff or transactions to enjoy this game to its fullest. Yes, I wish they just let me play offline and didn't keep popping the online TOS in my face all the freaking time but I guess its better than locking things behind paywalls or forcing microtransactions for everyone without any choice.

Wow, how did I not write a review for this game yet. Been playing it for 2 years straight, just look at my playtime. I'm so disappointed with myself now, haha.

Well this game is my life. It's brought me an insane amount of enjoyment over an insane number of hours and has kept me going through all the good and the bad in my life for 2 years. I've made a lot of guides for it and even youtube tutorials and it's been really important to me and still is. Met so many interesting people and made so many friends in its great community too! I don't play any other online game other than this, because this alone is so satisfying. If you liked Mass Effect, you'll love this! It's as if all your squadmates came to life and Mass Effect had a baby with a ninja.

PROS -

- It's the most epic sci-fi space ninja game there is and is a must play for any sci-fi buff or 3PS action buff. One of the BEST presentations I've ever seen in a game, from the look and feel to the UI and gameplay, sound and everything else.
- The verticality and 360 degree freedom of movement is unparalleled compared to ANY game I've ever played.
- Endless collection of items, weapons, warframes, skins etc. for the completionist in you. Endless hours of fun.
- Great 4 player team based co-op PVE which is the core of the game, 4 person PVP, and 4 person space ninja football. What else can I say. :P Oh yeah, 8 player raids.
- Extremely interactive environment, with clans, dojos, trading, relays where random people can all load in, etc. Heck when you're in a squad you can even see the other players' ships from your cockpit window and can move your ship around on the loading screen and space dance with your mates, haha.
- Mostly great community experience and pretty helpful people all around. So there's a low barrier of entry for new people. Also, the devs are amazing and the most interactive and host weekly shows and monthly livestreams and are always taking feedback on the huge forums.
- The last few updates have revitalized this game and made it extremely good for everyone, new and old. The new Star Map is visually exciting and clear, guiding players along the journey which is now much more satisfying, new Prime obtaining system which actually cuts down the grind from 100 to 10, meaning you might spend a week or 2 on the latest Prime items and not months.
- Beautiful and diverse environments and creatures and enemies. Bosses are all very unique now too.
- Space cats and space dogs for the taking, 'nuff said.
- And last but not least, the most unique and diverse set of characters to play I've EVER seen. They aren't your run of the mill typical "classes" of characters, but each frame is like a unique individual and has a personality of its own. The Warframes are all extremely detailed and beautifully designed and the Prime versions are just WOW. Full customization options and so you can truly make your frames unique to you. Each of them has really innovative powers and each frame feels totally different to handle.
- Also, game will run on almost any hardware, has very low requirements and is beautifully optimized for the PC since it originated on the PC. Beautiful graphics, not over the top but not Source Engine simple either. PBR, SSAO, SMAA, SS Reflections, the works.
- Oh and last thing, you DO NOT have to invest a SINGLE dime into this game, but you can if you want to save time or get things without working for them. You can earn ♥♥♥♥ loads of the money bought currency purely through trading with others and get each and every item for free, except for some cosmetic items in the Prime Access which are meant to be paid for anyway, so you get 99% of things free in this game. I've invested only about 30 USD over 2 years in this game and I've got almost everything.

Cons -

- Will get you hooked for hours upon hours. (But it's not as bad as say, DOTA2 or WoW or CS)
- Game will expect a lot of hard work from you to obtain items, there is a LOT and I mean a LOT of grind. (But with the procedurally generated levels and new frames, new weapons and new friends all the time, it's much easier to enjoy and not as bad as it sounds, you might actually start enjoying the grind itself, haha)
- RNGsus, our lord and saviour. It will control your destiny in Warframe, your path, your life, who you meet, your fate. Sometimes it will forsake you, sometimes it will bestow upon you the gifts of the gods. Just accept that your life is in its control and play. :P
- Bugframe. This game is still in a "Beta" phase and the devs are constantly adding things and improving upon the game, so it's a never ending cycle of improvements and bugs and patches and fixes and so on. (But this is also part of the experience) The final game is coming Soon™.
- Baro sheet tier. That's all I'm gonna say, you will find out once you get into the game. (Nah, I'm kidding, I love Baro.)

Overall one of my most favorite games of all time, this is not just a game, it's a huge and important part of my life and has been an enriching experience for 2 years. I recommend it to everyone I meet who's a gamer and I will recommend it to you too! Happy hunting Tenno! :D

DX Human Revolution is one of my all time favorite games. It's the MOST immersive game I have ever played with one of the most amazing and engaging stories I have ever seen, bar none.

DX MD ups that ante in all departments while maintaining that depth of the world and believability. The gameplay is vastly improved too, now allowing for all sorts of vertical gameplay. Gameplay seems really good overall and it's basically an improved version of DX HR in all departments. UI is solid and interactive elements are great. Graphics are really amazing too, and almost all the things that they promised with the Dawn Engine tech demo last year are in the game, most apparent of which are the Real Hair and Real Materials which make the characters look truly spectacular, even though the hair was downgraded from the E3 demos.

OLD INFO CHECK BELOW FOR UPDATE EDIT-----Only problem is that I can't play it for any extended period of time due to constant crashing. My rig is nothing spectacular, it's a 3 year laptop with 8GB RAM, Core i7 and a GT 750m and even though the game could definitely have been better optimized for PC's I also understand the visual fidelity is amazing and so I'm not complaining about the performance too much. I can run it at barely playable FPS (20-30) on 1600x900 on a 1080p screen while on Low to Medium settings and the Sharpen filter is really useful to make it look better and I'm so glad they kept it in the PC version!

I just can't stand the crashing though. It seems most people are having that problem due to poor optimization for PC GPU's RAM. Sadly, another great franchise affected by the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ console hardware requiring the devs to focus on squeezing the most out of consoles' APU's and Unified RAM.

Also, there are many bugs like the Sprint (shift) not deactivating sometimes giving you infinite sprint even if you just wanted to go a foot forward, buggy saves where you can't really save while in cover since when you load it and press space to continue, the game also thinks you wanted to go to the next point of cover which also needs you to press space. Then there's the bug where all of a sudden you can't stay in cover and it boots you out as soon as you get into cover and if you hold down the cover button it loops you in and out.

Wait till they fix all the crashes and bugs and then buy it. It's definitely an amazing game, just not a great port, which unfortuately is the trend nowadays thanks to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ console manufacturers imposing console parity on developers, so they don't have time or money to spend on making the game on the PC and then porting it to console or just making a good port like Mad Max did.------------

EDIT: After going through 5 patches and a DirectX 12 update, the game seems much better! :) I've just played it for a few hours without a single crash, and performance seems to have gone up a bit too! Looking forward to the full DirectX 12 implementation, since now it's just a preview, but a good one. A little stutter here and there, but nothing considerable. I'm glad Nixxes is now doing the job they should have done before the game was released. There's still hope, PC gamers!

UPDATE 2: Well, I got lucky and upgraded to a new laptop, now running a Quadro M2000M, the equivalent of a GTX 960m, and after all the updates my performance is much better and I can play at 30-40 FPS at High settings. Funnily, the DirectX 12 lowers my FPS by about 3, but it maybe 'cos I'm running on a Quadro card, even though it's Windows 10. Anyway, I'm still in Prague and the vastness and depth of the city and the characters and the sheer number of NPC's and places to explore is MIND BOGGLING. The city is easily 3 times bigger than Detroit from DXHR and due to the addition of so much verticality it becomes like 4 times bigger. The sewers are a city of their own, haha. Easily over 2 times as big as Hengsha which was the largest level in DXHR, and with way more places to explore. There's shops, real shops everywhere. Not just tiny boxes anymore, each has a whole basement and a network of vents to explore. Apartment complexes, banks, other places of interest everywhere. I've just spent over 10 hours exploring Prague, and I haven't even completed the side missions or the main story missions there, just got lost exploring the city. And I haven't event covered 75% of the city, haha.

THIS IS WHAT I PAID FOR AND I GOT IT IN FULL AND EVEN MORE THAN I COULD EVER HOPE AND EXPECT. THANK YOU EIDOS FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK, IT TRULY SHOWS IN THIS GAME. I don't care what the haters say, spent over 20 hours in this game already and I am enjoying the heck out of it. It's also the most visually beautiful game of the year, for sure. :D

I loved exploring and getting immersed in the world of DXHR and I love getting more of the same but in a greatly enhanced world over here in DEMD. Totally recommend, even if just purely for the love of immersion.
