Being based on russian roulette it functions as a very unique rogue like, it has a very similar setting to the 21 minigame from RE7 which I like.
Also drinking beer smoking a cigarette and then blowing your brains out is a very unique choice to have in a game.

Took them long enough but we got there in the end

The negative reception due to the difficulty is highly undeserved.

Beat the DLC after 50 hours in just 5 days. I love how condensed it is compared to basegame. I wish the progress was more spread out across the map instead of taking place in a smaller part of it, and having more weapons/armor would have been nice. They knocked it out of the park with the exploration aspect, some say it overshadows the bossfights but in my opinion the bosses are so great and memorable that it creates a perfect balance between the two.

I can't not recommend this DLC, one of the finest FromSoft has ever put out.

Fun little garlic-like but the unlockables aren't really worth it, it feels like you have everything from the get go so it gets quite repetitive trying to unlock every item. Most items are stat boosts and the interesting items have a lot of common elements that kind of groups them together, like taking -1 damage per second. It's missing the gambling feel and if you lose it feels like you lost because you didn't build your character balanced enough.
Maybe fewer characters with multiple unlockables per character would have helped increase the replayability. Doesn't really do anything other games of its genre don't, yet I still played and finished it, so that probably means something
