My experience so far was this.
Entered Galactic war (SP mode basically) played on a solar system with one planet, was destroyed by the AI because the tutorials didn't work, while playing the animations stuttered and the game lagged, almost as if the servers were lagging and it was streaming, meanwhile my PC wasn't breaking a sweat.
Till the fix this I wouldn't recommend it, kinda destroys the fun.

I was murdered by a bow weilding cow boy while drinking a bottle of whisky as a healthpack, while suicide bombing people with sticks of dynamite.

Great fun, especially for e Free to Play. The combat isn't extremely great, but definitely solid, apart from a few bugs one and again, though REMEMBER, its still in BETA!
It has nice coop, though it really doesn't change or add anything from SP.

Definitely worth downloading!
