This is by far the best game I have ever played. While I may only have 1.5K Hours I have another account with around 500. Speaking from 2K+ Hours of experience here.

Rust today is not what it was 4 or 5 years ago. Back then it was a very tight knit community which made the gameplay very unique. During server wipes you had alliances, and bands of smaller groups helping each other out in order to protect from the larger groups. These relationships went on for months, and wipe after wipe, at least on the Rustopia [US] Server that I was solely playing on. It was amazing. It still is amazing however in such a more dynamic way.

Now aday's Rust is much different as the feeling of a tight knit community has all but vanished, along with the small groups banding together. I miss that, but I wouldnt trade it back for a minute. The ammount of detail in the electricity update, the amount of detail in the progression of monument puzzles / RAD towns is unparalled. The netcode, graphics, and registry are all almost completely fine tuned. It's just a great game, up, left, right and center. Play it for 1 hour and you will hate it. Play it for 100 hours and it will grow on you. Play for 500 hours and your starting to get a feel for all the foundational aspects of this game. Play for 1,000 hours and you will be greatly rewarded with the knowledge to suceed. Times may vary from person to person, but this is single handedly the best game i've ever played.
