I very much enjoyed the style of gameplay and feel in 2019, and MW2 is largely a continuation of that. The SP campaign is great and follows a much more grounded story compared to the original. I really enjoyed my time with it.

As for the multiplayer, it's a mess. Performance issues, crashing, bugs, etc. Even the lobby system for each mode has their own bugs. The lack of polish is astounding for the kind of money this product makes. It's very clear that a lot of dev teams have their hands in this, but hardly anyone knows what each other is doing. Just a mishmash of ideas thrown at a wall, and packaged together into a battle pass by a corporate overlord.

I put up with it because the core gameplay isn't something I can get anywhere else; friends playing is also a large factor in why I spend a lot of time in this. Let me be clear: I think all of the modes are fun to play. but everything outside of that leaves a bad taste in a way that makes me second guess future purchases.

Never finished the single-player, and have spent most of my time online. It's pretty alright. Better with friends, but the grinding aspect of the online mode can be a huge turn-off if you're not into that kind of thing. Best thing I can say is to set personal goals and have fun.
