TL:DR: If you like any open world sim-arcade racer, like The Crew, Other Horizon parts or NFS, you will also like Forza Horizon 5.


Gameplay:
The gameplay is like any other Horizon parts, you can chose from a variation of racing types e.g. Street race, Off road etc.
The World is very well, and you can find nearly everything from Beaches over Desserts to a Volcano. It also represents the Mexican landscape very well in my opinion. Truth be told, I never traveled to Mexico and only knew how it looks lime from movies and TV, so in my opinion, turn 10 hit the mark.

Car-physics:
Like every other open world racer, the handling of the cars is more on the arcade side and far off from an AC or RF2, but that is what I expected.
But some stuff is not so well-thought-out. When you activate the simulation damage model the cars get damage from big hits, what is fine, but when you are playing a story adventure and the car is toast after the first of three parts of this adventure you can drive a race with a completely broken car. If you turn the damage module only to cosmetic, everything is fine and parts break a way left and right, but your car still drives okay.

Story:
The story of the game is fine, and better than in fh4 in my opinion. It is not a great story but also not garbage.

Graphic:
If you crank it up to extreme, my notebook 3060 GPU with a power limit at 135w is at its limit, also the 6gb of GPU memory is nearly full, and you will get a warning about that.
I played it at mostly ultra settings and have a constant 60fps because of VSync, my GPU sits around 70-8ß% usage. For these settings, everything looks fine and dandy.
But the biggest plus in my opinion is the new SFX engine. The smoke looks amazing and makes your drifting even more fun.

Sound:
The Music is okay, there is a streamer mode available which i do not use.
The cars sounds are okay, not the best but also not the worst i have heard so far.
Everything else like story telling etc. is fine too.
The only complaint could be that there are not so many music tracks available per radio station.

Online/Coop feature:
There are a good amount of coop / online features in the game, but here comes the big kicker at the moment, they are working like crap.
In the open world you got disconnected constantly and in the open world arena games you are mostly alone, and then they fail.
But this could be because of early access and I hope it will not end up like "New World" from the other major cloud provider.
When it works, it works fine. I had some races with other people, and they were very funny.

Conclusion:
It is the fifth iteration of the Horizon games and Turn10 steadily improved the game. As mentioned in the TL;DR if you liked the other open world racer you will likely have fun with Horizon 5.
I hope that MS will fix the online problems as fast as possible. It is far off from flawless, but if you can live with some limitations, then you should be able to have plenty of fun and can "waste" plenty of time in this game.


For me the game is fun and at the moment did not regret spending nearly 100 bucks on the "superdupa" edition on steam.

Like other paradox title not very friendly if you have no idea what to do.

It has a good tutorial but doenst cover everything. It can be very overwhelming at first but if you dig in the fun starts.

The mod community is amazing.

This game is ♥♥♥♥.

Why?

Because it wanebe a Rollercoster Tycoon 2016 but it is Bug Tycoon 2016.

If you have the money go ahead and buy planet coaster. That game is mor Rollercoster Tycoon then Rollercoaster Tycoon world would ever be.
