Fantastic game, with DLC that really should have been free content updates instead.
Deluxe Edition/Season Pass is completely skippable unless it's at a very deep discount.

You get a bunch of reskinned weapons/monsters/dungeons and a few unique boss fights, all stuff which really should have been free content updates.

The main game is fantastic, but only get the Season Pass/Deluxe Edition if it's at a very deep discount.
What you get isn't *bad*, it's just not worth paying for.

Honestly, one of the best games I've ever played.

Great, albeit short experience.

The main story takes 5-7 hours to finish and the only extras you unlock are six wave based challenges, and an extra difficulty called 'God Hard' that's so unfairly hard it feels like they forgot five others before it. It also drastically limits slo-mo time and removes the weapon upgrade system completely making it kinda... bland, I guess?
If real difficult challenges are your thing, then maybe you'll enjoy it.

Also, if you have prior experience playing with controllers I'd suggest one for Vanquish - not because it's 'better', but exactly because it's not. Playing with a KB+M makes aiming a little bit too easy.

CHANGE THE VOICE TO CHINESE!
Do not try to play this with the English voice, the narrator is terrible.
Even if you can somehow tolerate it, you are missing so much emotion it ruins the whole point of the narrator.

Once you do that, you'll find gameplay that matches the trailer perfectly (for once), and a rather humorous and entertaining storyline as well.
