An isometric action RPG that controls like Diablo but doesn't necessarily play like it. It's more of an open world RPG that does not have procedurally generated levels nor loot (mostly).

While it's a good game, it is rather flawed:

-A guide is absolutely essential to playing even on your first time as there are VERY frequent potential instances to break quests, including the main one. I was only aware of this when looking up to see how to fix some graphical artifacting that occurred. The one available here on Steam is the guide to use and be sure to save scum with the game's quick save and quick load features.

-A character build guide is also needed because this game does not follow the expected character/class conventions. The starting characters you are presented with are not classes but rather just a base to work with; you actually have open freedom on how to build your character so what you pick is just a personal preference. The big deal here is that when it comes to putting points into your stats (Strength, Agility, Intelligence, Constitution), YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST INVEST IN STRENGTH AND AGILITY. Improving Intelligence only increases your mana points and that's it; no equipment requires it and spells do not get stronger from increasing it. You can still be a mage type character just fine, you're just also going to be melee capable.

-To add onto the last point, many of the character skills are useless and some are even bugged. Again, look up a guide to see what is viable because enemies do NOT respawn so you must invest your stat and skill points carefully.

-A lot of grind, which is necessary in order to level up. Imagine having to traverse a land that's like as big as Skyrim and you have to kill everything. Now do that three times.

If you can put up with all that, you've got a good 70 hours ahead of you. Oh, and you can reroll the stats on the unique legendary items you find (usually with green or orange letters). Just keep in mind the stats on these items lock in when you press Alt or hover your cursor over the item, even if it remains unidentified.

Classic style FPS with brutal, visceral visuals, satisfying weapons, and quite a bit of challenge.

Not entirely perfect though because it has crash issues and a major dip in performance in a huge level around halfway. Recommend you set decals to expire after one minute.

I can't entirely vouch for Demon Turf Tower yet but the main game is highly enjoyable and a rather technical platformer. If you want something decently challenging, you MUST do most of the harder level variations in order to reach the final boss but there's also some tough trial levels and a whole mess of speedruns to fill out the collectibles.

I practically waited over a decade until I was ready to finally give Skyrim a proper go, with the only knowledge that it would be buggy here and there.

I just didn't realize the extent of said bugginess would be.

The nicest thing I can say about Skyrim is that it's playable and it's basically a quest dispenser. If you just want to roam around a fantasy world, it might be your thing. But this thing is basically a beta and there's a litany of bugs, glitches, and poor design choices that I cannot help but say the universal acclaim the game received is without merit. This thing is busted and it's not at all worth the hype.

"But you played 225 hours of it!" Yeah, that's me trying to get my money's worth. I initially got Skyrim way back in 2012 or 2013 when Best Buy offered it at a deep discount at select stores. I did all the quests I could in the base game, Dawnguard, and Dragonborn. That's the most fair thing I can do to make up my mind.

You're probably better off starting off at Oblivion then moving on to Morrowind. Supposedly the games get "dumbed down" as the series progresses.

100% game completion with all achievements in just under five and a half hours. Yet I cannot completely endorse this game. Almost.

I'm going to echo the words of another reviewer: Pumpkin Jack is bland. Not bad nor terrible, just bland. It's unremarkable, which is disappointing because we seldom see the "silly gothic horror" aesthetic, like from PlayStation's MediEvil.

Visually the game looks fine, like a hi-def toony platformer. However, there's lots of reused setpieces. Among the swamps, graveyard, and mines, you're going to see many of the same wooden planks and crates. There's also some very amateur shortcuts being taken with certain animations, like props shrinking when broken instead of shattering into pieces. The worst offender was during the fourth boss when these very simple, untextured polygons appeared to serve as fractures in the ground. It made the game look unpolished.

Speaking of reused, you're also going to see the same few enemies over and over. Not enough variety, they mainly just go straight towards you. No strategy, no variety.

Combat is just as disappointing. Enemies don't recoil or get stunned, they'll just effortlessly go right through your attacks. And their tells aren't easily readable so you're just going to end up taking hits. While the game does award a new weapon at the end of every level, they're not substantial. They're more of a sidegrade or just an option at best because they do not do more damage than the other. With that in mind, the best weapon is probably the shotgun as the range gives you a little bit of safety but you can also perform a rapid-fire attack after a dodge roll.

The platforming and puzzles are very easy. If you're looking for a platforming challenge, look elsewhere. The boss fights are also samey, recycling the same attacks in slightly different ways.

And the game's writing/jokes is low effort. The attempts at meta-humor fall flat.

Despite all the issues, I will give this a thumbs-up but *barely* just because it's not an outright bad game. Middling. Grade-schoolers might have fun for a bit (if you don't mind occasional use of the word "hell") but you could do better, especially at lower prices.

A short but funny game about saying no (and standing up for yourself). Simple, but it's a one-note gimmick that could put some people off within minutes. And there's some flaws:

- The different kinds of No's you can say are superficial. There are no unique interactions from using a certain type at specific moments, they're just for flavor.
- Same goes for the non-No actions you can perform. Although they're used to build up a charged No, I noticed they were less relied upon as the game progressed.
- The 99,999 No's achievement is too much. Just 9,999 of them is enough. An actual sincere "No" is in order here.

Steam Deck users should check that their input is correct. I was under the mistaken impression the game actually had no controller support when it did. I played the whole game with a community binding but the Gamepad with Joystick Trackpad template is all you need. Maybe try applying it before first boot.

Save this one for a rainy day or something short to play between games.

Nevermind Mario Kart, having put a considerable time into Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed and Crash Team Racing/CTR Nitro Fueled, just the handling on these karts doesn't feel tight nor satisfying to use. The drift mechanic is needlessly complicated by adding an extra button to invoke it. And while you're supposed to unlock harder tracks, that shouldn't mean even the earlier, easier tracks shouldn't be any less enjoyable to play.

I have no knowledge of the game's monetization but I'm not interested in finding out. It just doesn't feel good to play. Just play Sonic and emulate CTR:NF.

Logic Paint S is a Picross clone (sometimes also going by "nonograms" or "griddler") with Hatsune Miku visual and audio themes. If you have no interest in Miku or just outright dislike her, then this is assuredly a hard pass for you.

If you are unfamiliar with Picross, it's a type of logic puzzle where you fill in squares on a grid to make a picture. The numbers arranged on the top columns and the left side rows are your clues for where to fill in the squares.

Unfortunately, Logic Paint S does a very poor job of explaining the finer points of Picross. Besides outright lacking a tutorial, there's no information on how to work with the clues on larger rows and columns. There are instructions but they're insufficient. It's a critical oversight that needs to be addressed because the game ramps up the difficulty VERY quickly and it's not newbie friendly as a result.

For those of us who do know what to do and are interested: it's 350+ puzzles of Picross. There's just a small handful of 5x5's and 10x10's before the game throws 15x15s and 20x20s at you. There's also the Special puzzle series where the puzzles are a part of a much larger picture.

Completing each non-Special puzzle rewards a picture of Miku and/or one of her friends. Stars that are earned from completing puzzles are used towards unlocking the Miku vocals layer of each track. You can earn extra stars for not using hints and not making mistakes, though I feel the latter is needlessly strict; other Picross games allow a few mistakes before suffering a major penalty.

Many of the songs also have their titles in Japanese. They need to be translated.

Overall I feel the game's lack of a proper tutorial is a major barrier to entry for new and inexperienced Picross players, especially with the difficulty spike right at the beginning. If you really do like Miku and want to know how to play, I highly recommend picking up Pictopix first to learn how things work before moving on to Logic Paint S.

Finally, as a Steam Deck owner, I can confirm the game works just fine as of this posting. You can tone down the performance WAY down to the minimum to get a lot of battery life because this is among the simplest games you can play on any modern computer.

Had I known Deep Silver and Volition's selling out to Epic would not only result in a miserable excuse of a revival of the franchise but to also go back and needlessly destroy the older entries and fester them with Epic Online Services, I would not add them to my library.

Tim Sweeney is a clown and his stupid little circus experiment is faltering.

A litany of content and replayability for just a few bucks. A bargain even at full price (said full price being five dollars as of this review).
