Very great game! The sniping mechanics such as bullet drop and wind are well done and are not hard enough to make sniping a hell, but complex enough to make each shot landed satisfying and a small victory. The game overall features a great campaign, with neat amounts of lore and information here and there through cinematics and pieces of text scattered in the map. To not make this too lengthy, I'll just mention special features I liked or disliked

- The graphics are fantastic. The world's precious and vibrant, it's really beautiful and I recommend stopping every once in a while and enjoying the scenery.

- The realism is great. Non-sniper weapons don't have a crosshair, so it adds a little bit of realism since you shouldn't be shooting without aiming down-sights first. Shots still land where they should if you dont, though!

- Parkour is a little wanky and slow but your character isn't someone physically enhanced after all. He'd rather have a good grip than drop down - so get yourself some time to climb-.

- Most missions feature sniping spots from where you can clean the whole place if you have a silencer on. With preparation and using your binoculars to ping enemies so it marks the distance, you can snipe safely most enemies. Don't forget to exhale to avoid the sight wiggling around.

- It can be quite confusing some times to spot where to go or what to do. Using the mask mode can help out regarding that

- It's not explained but in "Loadout" in the select contract skin you can get fancy new weapons and skins

- Whenever you load a level, it can take quite a while to load so you'll be seeing a cinematic while it. The cinematics are cool, but try not to get sick of them.

- The game's intention is that you snipe from afar and it's done well: your sniper is the weapon that has it most easy to take down targets. You carry with yourself an automatic rifle and a handgun, but the first's recoil is very hard to control (use bursts) and the second's damage is low (try to hit the head).

- I've sometimes got stuck forever in a spot I can't get out of, so try not to glitch the game's physics, it won't end good for you.

Overall a very nice game, but not lengthy. Consider buying it if you love sniping games that feature stealth, or buy with a discount otherwise.

What a fantastic game. It's very short, it took me just 5.7hrs to beat it, but I enjoyed every second of it. Every. Damn. Second.

Story-telling: Katana ZERO tells a fantastic story in an equally fantastic way. The past of the character is well threaded with the present, showing pieces of it in a manner that keeps the player on the edge at any given moment. Through the present, the player controls mainly a samurai without a name, until he's given one later on. Said samurai learns about his past after losing memory through flashbacks induced by the lack of a drug.

Through the game, the player is put against the ropes in morally-ambiguous questions, with well-rounded side characters that puts us to think what'd be the better outcome. However, one cannot think for too long, as all conversations have a timer divided in two parts: the beginning lets the player interrupt the NPC talking, and the white, which allows a reply for a time.

The correct choice of words can not only clear a level section for you, but also develop the future, as some NPCs remember what you have said, and react accordingly.

Visuals: the game is pixel-art with SFX very well done, with very smooth animations and very quick pace. A bullet shot can be seen frame by frame flying towards you in a precise manner, allowing the most dexterous players to deflect it just before landing on the samurai's head. The art is very great, and the light work cannot be overseen: lights reflect on your character, and is used very well throughout the whole game.

Gameplay: as fast paced the game is, the player must think quick and act quicker. It's a rush to drop in a group of enemies and starting hurling projectiles, slashing through gunmen and deflecting bullets mid-air. One has not so much time to think how to do the level, but upon death, the level is reset and can try again. However, this has a twist story-wise...

Level design: the level design is marvelous. Each and every level is a challenge itself, not allowing for the same tactic at two different levels. The player has short sight on where to go, so sometimes repeating the level multiple times allows for a refinement of the route to take. Also, most levels have at least more than one way to solve it, if not more than 3 or 4.

Downsides: if you're not so quick-thinking or have slow reflexes, the game can be unforgiving with you. However, you can slow time for a short period of time, which reloads with time, to help you out while deflecting bullets or threading between dangers.
I have a couple of buddies on Discord to stream the game to, and the game slows down considerably while streaming, to the point it becomes normal-paced. This hasn't happened to me with any other game, which is truly weird.
Sometimes, projectiles will hit walls or, specially, corners, while trying to take down an enemy, which can turn for a quick death if you don't fix your error with a dodge or deflection.

Conclusion: the game is very recommendable if you like fast-paced, hack and slash games with a great storytelling.

Awesome gameplay, interesting mechanics, deep lore, each and every enemy is different, different ways to finish a level, beautiful landscape, tons of different bosses to push your weaknesses, well implemented parkour, useful stealth.

An absolute must if you like souls-like and shinobis (ninjas of some sorts).

The game was very good, with a clear gameplay and quite intuitive keyboard layout, even tho I had to change Guard (block attacks) to lateral mouse button, which was at left Alt instead. The game is very deep in lore and interesting, and if you know someone else who played it you can keep quite a time speaking about it and making out stories or hypothesis.

There's one big problem tho, I had bought this game for 2 persons, as well as for me, we were all interested in the game but we also really wanted to play together, as it looked like a real fun souls-like but with co-op! For some reason, the game doesn't let me connect to no one in the world at all, even tho I followed all sorts of tips and helps for people that already had this issue and didn't work at all.

I did contact customer support twice, and very kind people replied to my e-mail within a couple of days and started trying to help me out. Shame was there was no solution to my problem at all, or so they thought.

The solution was to use a bridge program to connect a direct tunnel between computers, with an application for example called "Hamachi" that allows two computers to connect. That way, and if both have strong connection, you are allowed to play together with another person.

The other issue was the design of the multiplayer itself. You send a distress signal, and tell your buddy to search for a stress signal set with the same password he has set, and within the same network options set. After a roughly 15 seconds, the system finds the distress signal, loading screen, and join my game. Great, we're together, and we can play.

When you're with another player, you can't access mistles, the checkpoints. You can't manage your storage, level up, or even rest if there's another player in the game. To do so, the other player would have to leave (another loading screen) and then join after you've done your business (yet another loading screen). You can still active new Mistles nonetheless. Also, if your buddy dies while fighting, he will be disconnected from the game. 2 more loading screens for him to join again. And, if I die, the one hosting, he's kicked from the game, and has to do the whole process again.

Also, there are some areas where you can't send a distress signal, like while fighting or in a final boss area. Sometimes, randomly, the game doesn't let you send a distress signal, apparently for no reason at all, but lets you after a good while (last time, 45 mns).

Overall the game is very great, very inmersive and fun to play, but if you're planning to buy it just to play with someone else, think twice about it. If you do anyways buy it and try and have trouble, asking customer support is a good idea.

Very great gameplay, there's a bit of level difference on skill needed to advance throughout the game but it's been smoothed out so it's pretty much very nice.

Animations are smoother than real life.
