This is a very unique experience and totally changes the dynamics of counter strike. The PvE was somewhat dry in my opinion, and resembled Sven: Co-Op in that you essentially plow your way alongside other players through a linear map fighting back wave after wave after wave of enemy and completing certain tasks (usually blowing up a barrier that has 30,000 health) to get to the next area. There are buy zones interspersed for you to load up on ammo or switch out guns and it usually culminates in a big boss fight. It's kind of droll and there's not much of a challenge.

WHERE THIS REAAAALLLY ****REAAAAAAAAAAAALLLY**** shines however is the PvP mode where some people are zombies and some CTs each round (randomly selected).

Each zombie type has special powers, like an iron maiden it can slam down to stun enemies and hide behind, or a hoard of bats that grabs the human you aim it at and drags him toward you. The humans (CTs) have a slew of all the classic CS guns and some extras, with a much higher ammo capacity.

This mode can be SUPER intense as you spawn throughout familiar classic CS maps and try to get to high ground with other humans, since one hit from a zombie and you become one and join the hunt. Zombies have thousands of health points, but are slowed down by being hit so a group of humans can often protect themselves or give another a chance to excape, but once the guy next to you takes a scratch he'll kill you.

Playing with just a couple people is really cool too depending on the map... it becomes more like hide and seek and can be VERY intense. I played with 2 others on the classic estate map and I kept jumping as I was attacked out of nowhere, since the maps are darkened to create a tense ambience.

This mode makes it SO worth the download and since it is free game, you've GOT to try it out... I was hooked after a couple rounds.

Happy hunting! :)
