Obviously not of the same quality as the we were here games but this was a great little bit of fun for me and my friend! Managed to complete all of the levels in one run :)

Great game play, lots of build crafting and a cool retelling of a famous story. The closest a company has come to recreating the from software souls like vibe. I only wish there was more weapon variety and some of the locomotion animations weren't so goofy.

Really fun & nostalgic

Amazing party game, hours of fun! Played it on the switch and had to grab it on Steam to play with friends. The only 2 downsides I would really give it are that 1. It's 4 players max I'm pretty sure, so big groups aren't possible and 2. It takes too long to unlock skins and there's not really enough skins in the game.

This was my first souls game, and for that I have a special place in my heart for it. That first time stepping out from the dark and gloomy area of things betwixt into that beautiful sunrise over Majula was really the first part that sold the game to me.
I will admit with this being my first from soft souls game I played with steam offline because I kept getting destroyed by invaders since I sucked but even still I had an awesome time playing this game.
DS2 is very different from the other from soft souls games and it gets a lot of flack because of that but I honestly think this game stands on its own two feet as a really enjoyable souls like with entertaining and challenging bosses (and some of the best dlc in the whole series mind you). Like a few other reviewers have said, what this game does well it does spectacularly, but every game has its pitfalls.
If you're stepping backward from DS3 and now Elden Ring you may find this a bit clunky and hard to get into, but that's what you get from a game that came out over 8 years ago! So I say give it a chance, you might be pleasantly surprised!
And if it's not for you, it's not for you. After all, it's the black sheep of the souls series.

From Soft you crazy son of a, you've done it again!
A fantastic story, deep lore, beautiful world design, epic boss design and battles and one of the best power fantasies all bundled into the most accessible souls-like that from soft has ever released. Like any souls game the story is there you just have to look a bit deeper since the game doesn't spoon feed you and you will need to remember things, but it's what you've come to expect and if anything adds to the immersion imo.
I would recommend this to pretty much anyone, I'm on ng+2 and I'm still finding new things and secrets.
Also for those intimidated by the invasion part, you can't be invaded unless you have a coop partner in your world so don't worry!
My only issue with this game at all is that the anticheat causes occasional frame stutters but please don't deprive yourself of an epic adventure because of that!

I was late to the souls series in general because I found myself launching the game, dying a few times and not understanding the appeal. I wont lie I played both DS2 and DS3 offline because being invaded by people who are substantially better at the game than you can be quite demotivating but I've had an amazing time. I would 100% recommend this game to anyone who loves beautiful and meticulously crafted worlds with awesome boss fights (that are much, MUCH easier than you hear about but still pose a challenge) and a fun character build crafting system. The story and lore is there and it's rich but you do have to go searching for it, so keep an eye out because some things are easy to miss!

One of the best games from my childhood back when I used to play Xbox with loads of friends, can't wait for forge to come out! Brilliant, fully worth the money 10/10 love it. (Could be unstable but I don't care lol)

Hilarious multiplayer fun, workshop content keeps it fresh for longer.
