switch to the Proton Experimental branch!

also, near the end of the game in Lambda Core when you're about to enter Xen, when he yells "go now!" you HAVE to go through the portal from the ramp, otherwise you get softlocked, why this isnt fixed is beyond me..

Actual Review

I could very well see this as one of the best games ever made.
Yes, i've finished Half Life 1 probably around 15 times or more.

This was made by a bunch of Half-Life fans in their spare time, the amount of love poured into this project is in my eyes, absoutely unmatched.
there's just something about this being made by genuine fans who want to make a good product, the first iteration was completely free too, so it wasn't for a quick buck or anything, just pure love and care, I wish everyone who worked on this Masterpiece a beautiful life!

The Music is timeless, fits perfectly to the game, quite depressing which again, fits the whole game, just the Black Mesa Theme or On a Rail, absolutely amazing themes.

Level Design is fantastic, sure it's not a 100% flawless, but it doesn't have to be-
When they released the Xen Beta back in 2019, I literally had a tear drop, not even joking.
Xen is done in the best way imaginable, it looks and plays wonderful.

you HAVE to get this game, especially if you like Valve games or call yourself a "Half Life Fan" that somehow hasn't played this yet.
