Well, Mt. Vesuvius exploded, Pompeii got wiped, and my treasury got emptied, right before I was about to go to war against Carthage. I said, psshh whatever, I'm Rome, I do what I want, and proceeded to fight Carthage anyway. Welp, they were stronger than I thought and the first war was a stalemate. I take them seriously, build up my forces properly, and in the second war, I took Sicily, Corsica, Sardinia and a foothold into Africa. I was ecstatic. Then it all fell apart. Sicily revolted. Then southern Italy. I never took care of my internals because I was so bloodthirsty trying to take out Carthage. And while I'm trying to keep everything from disintegrating, damn Carthage declares a war on me. I am so screwed.

10/10. Can't wait to create another epic historical story (mostly stories of epic failure).
