This game is so good it will make every other game seem worse in comparison

I'm experienced at CRPGs, thanks to Geneforge, so this game's combat was very easy for me. I got through the first area with rats on the first play, first try, like it was nothing. This game's combat seems difficult but it is very easy to figure out -- it is just typical CPRG combat based around stats, probabilities, action points, and chances.

This game is more mechanically difficult than later Fallouts and its UI is horrible, with even Fallout 2, only coming out a year later, having several quality of life changes for its UI. Be prepared to click and click and click until your hand is sore. However, its atmosphere and feel compared to all other Fallouts, even New Vegas, is incredible. It's super dark and horrifying, and can be very body horror. I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion with people but I think Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 are the best in the series.

Don't be ashamed to look things up if you need to -- these games came with a manual when they were released, and a big one, and they expected you to read them. This game tells you barely anything about what to do and it's even easy for an experienced CRPG player to get confused. Just look stuff up! There's no shame.

Overall an easy 7.5/10 game

♥♥♥♥ game compared to the original game. Has all of the same problems that geneforge 2 remake has -- see my G2 Infestation review if you are interested, since I don't feel like copypasting.

Don't be a graphics ♥♥♥♥♥. Go and get the original game, not Mutagen. It's much better, and doesn't have any of this attempted modernizing of a type of game which is inherently not modern.

The game has so many scalotological references and depictions in it that it's completely disgusting to play. Ruined a lot of the game for me when I'd constantly have villagers asking me to cook them a bowl of ♥♥♥♥.

Rad Child with 600 or 800 rads makes everything in this DLC except for speakers and holograms a total joke. Get it.

Perfect game, you can be an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who charges people 20 times your normal price for an umbrella whenever it rains

What I like about Calamity:

Bosses are very fun.
Music is awesome.
Weapons are great.
Effects are great.
Accessories are great.
Has many quality of life improvements to the base game without being excessive and doing the entire game for you.
Better than the base game.
Expert revengeance feels like a balanced difficulty and was very fun to play through.

What I don't like about Calamity:

The fans are absolute AIDS. When they aren't busy bullying composers and making them quit they're busy being elitist ♥♥♥♥♥ and gatekeeping about difficulty. They think they're such hot ♥♥♥♥ and better than you because they play the game on omega infernum ultra death balls for the worthy zenith seed i-wanna-throw-myself-in-front-of-a-train difficulty and you don't. If you want to ask for help about a boss you better be prepared to have half of the replies be something like "skill issue" or "get good" or "don't get hit".

Lots of stupid changes that make the game a lot worse than the original Geneforge 2.

Can't make creations move by themselves. When not in combat, the only way you can make them move is to move your player character and they will (poorly) follow them. This meaning that you can't make thahds in a map and use them as scouts anymore.

Can't change the color of your clothes.

Can't directly put points into creations' strength, dexterity, intelligence, or endurance anymore.

Only way that creations can level up is to use essence to get traits for them. They no longer level up with you throughout the course of the entire game. You can't make a fyora in the first map anymore and bring it with you through the entire game and have it be a god at the endgame anymore.

You can't run away from enemies anymore. You can't move away from enemies if they're right next to you without getting stopped with a "Enemy stops you!" message. Yet, some enemies can ignore this and run away from *you* if they want.

Leveling system is no longer one level per thousand xp, instead the leveling system has the amount of xp required to level up increase with each level.

You cannot destroy pylons anymore. Instead, they just get disabled for a while.

What weapons you can equip, like swords, now depends on your level on that relevant stat. If you're a shaper, you can't equip anything better than a dagger or a living knife without wasting valuable skill points into the melee weapons skill when you should absolutely NEVER put points into weapon skills as a shaper. In the original game you could equip any armor or weapon, regardless of your skill level in anything, and the only limiting factor is whether you could carry them without being overencumbered and losing action points.

This game is a straight downgrade from the original. The same applies to Mutagen and geneforge 1. Better graphics? Yeah. Worse games? Also yeah. Buy the originals. Don't buy this crap.
