Definitely a fun L4D-style VR shooter and an ambitious one at that. But the price:content ratio might not be justifiable for some people.

Still worth a positive review, but best to wait for more content and possibly a sale! :)

Criminally underrated.

Tons of fun and very quick. Think MOBA but without laning/grinding and just full on combat.

I love the Burton-esque/American McGee's Alice aesthetics. The puzzle mechanics are pretty simple and fun, with quite a few head scratchers. Wish it supported ultrawide tho, but it runs like a dream on a 2070 S.

Highly Recommended

Great game.

+ Weapons, Armor, Skill mods, Traits, and accessories are all fun to hunt in dynamic generated worlds.
+ No two instances are exactly the same, and there are a ton of secrets to find both in your world and in others.
+ Controls rival that of triple A titles. Super fun to shoot.
+ Lots of QoL improvements across the board.

+ Best played with friends but matchmaking is robust and content is fun enough to play solo.

UPDATE: Not Recommended

I tried really hard to love this game, it's got such great potential. However, there's just a whole ocean of issues that's plaguing this game right now, at the center of which is the network issues. Despite displaying low latency averaging at 60ms, there's huge lag inconsistencies that makes even the trivial fights annoying as hell because the lag causes damage inconsistencies (ie. You die out of a damage you would've been able to leech but your life leech didn't tick early enough to absorb the damage that conveniently ticks first)

- weird latency issues that makes game unplayable
- Unbalanced skill tree kinda defeats any motivation for endgame

Great game but tough to enjoy in current state:
+ Crazy Good Graphics
+ Feelsgood UX
- Unbalanced
- Constant Network Latency Issues

Still recommend tho, at least until D4 or something better comes along.

Flow Fire Games is off to a great start with SYNTHETIK. They bring a fresh new spin on the tired top-down shooter scene incorporating tried and tested roguelike elements with an emphasis on some interestingly deep gun-handling mechanics. The game has a huge arsenal of weapons and perks, it even lets you fine-tune the difficulty to suit your playstyle, effectively adding a huge chunk or replayability. The retro-futuristic theme is the cherry on top. If you're into roguelikes and topdown shooters, there's nothing but good things waiting for you in SYNTHETIK.

+ Slick visual style
+ Fresh and unique take on gunplay
+ Impressive replayability

- No dedicated story
