Just one word. Wow.
I could honestly say that this was one of better games i've played so far. The story, the gameplay. All of this ends up earning my solid 8,5/10. Well lets punct what this game does right, and what does it wrong. In fair and simple points, that will be expanded somewhere lower.

Pros:
  • Graphics
  • Story is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ great.
  • The mechanics
  • The feeling of shooting
  • The upgrade system
  • Team building aspect as well as "trust factor"
  • Optimization
  • The climate

Cons:
  • The mouse + keyboard movement.
  • Could be a little longer.
  • I could use more guns
  • The upgrade system
  • Multi is dead
  • The game could explain the whole "nano$hit" mechanics.

Well now since i've enumerated what i like and what i dont now i can explain furter

tl;dr game is great, recommended to anyone who wants a solid sci-fi game.

Graphics:
Well this is pretty self-explainatory to me. The game was released in 2012 and it was direct port from peasantry console. The looks of it are stunning, and gives you this feel that this is an actual fictional location within the game, not overcolourised place X, situated Y because of Z. The graphical design sits on a high level, every part of you, of the enemy, of the world looks convincing, via the looks the game tries to convince us that we are actually the Dan, not this sad lame fatty sitting near his PC playing a game to make him feel better. I call visuals of this game marvelous. Not the Witcher 3 or *Insert name of good visually game here* but enough to make me "WOW" in various moments.

Story:
I won't be spoiling too much in here, but the story and especially the plot twists made me feel emotional, almost they made me feel human (not the usual jerk which i am). The story is properly driven, the moments we are in town or some other kind of populated places it feels suprisingly normal. The moment we are introduced to the world, the moments we find our new teammates, the suprise plot-twists we find out while we progress further into the campaign mode. They feel stiched together very well. Huge shoutout to the team of Devil's Details - You've made an enjoyable story that is proper story not some crap like we can find out in newly published games.

The mechanics:
Lets start with basics: Cover mechanic. It works really well in this game, Its not like we are behind a cover X which is a sheet of plastic and oh it is so bulletproof as the 30cm of concrete. You feel the material of the cover, if you for an example hide behind the metal - yes it will catch and deflect bullets. The same principle goes to the wood, if you hide behind the wood sheet - yes it may catch the bullet or two, but the third one you will feel. Also the mechanics of shooting a foe into a head, and it starts shooting other robots - This one is nice. Something different in the days of CoD/BF alikes. You shoot the scraphead in the head, his head is destroyed, then he blindfires at his teammates, and the teammates are first going to shoot him, because he is more of a threat. I'd mention here an upgrade mechanics but i'll touch this in a second.

The feeling of shooting:
If you are a person like me, you are for the bigger part of your life playing shooter games, does not matter if its FPS or TPS. And i love how guns in here works. The animations, sound and minor things like a recoil makes these guns feel good. You know what you are shooting even without knowing the gun. The LMG feels heavy, sluggish and has this hard sound... And the recoils hits so hard, that i dont know if i've ever beaten the meat this hard. And it goes another way, the SMG feels light and practical, it sounds more like a 40 pistols shot at once (the RPM is too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ high on this) but it makes this unique feeling of shooting lighter and more close combat focused gun. And the heavy pistol oh god. It feels like you've tried to shoot 3 deagles at the same time with only one hand - but its good. All the guns looks and feels futuristic enough to be convinced that they really are.

The upgrade system:
Oh yes the first con (and also a pro in here - i'll explain why) on my list. Yes it is well thought, you have the nanothings to upgrade your soldier (well it is 2080 after all isnt it?), and the second - soldier of choice main gun upgrade system where you control what you want to upgrade, you want to be stupid enough to load your precious currency into a Range of firing for the shotgun of the explosive lady? You absolutely can. You want to make your big buddy LMG shoot as fast as you think? There you go. So that goes as a pro. Now to the con part. For the love of the god. You made only Main weapon avaible to upgrade? You find all kinds of weapons while you are progressing, why you cant upgrade those? I could use faster shooting sniper rifle, or more acurate SMG, or LMG with bigger magazine size. The second gun matters too. The same principle goes for pistol, while you are down you are forced to use pistol its obvious. So why FFS cant i upgrade my mag or ROF on it? This thing has driven me crazy for the whole campaign.

Team building
Well another point that is self-explainatory. You have selection of X team mates, and you take them with you when you split-up. You must decide what will suit you for the most basing on the factor of where are you going, what resistance you think will be there etc etc. Also the chit-chat between your team members can help with making you feel that you have a team, not AI things just to help you shoot. They will ask questions, they will talk between themselves, they will drop a comments when the game detects you are kind of lost. They will even ask you "Yo bro u need help?" while you are downed. This is really done well by my thinking.

Optimization:
I dont know how this was in the days of the release, but for now the game is really nicely optimized. The game i completed on a "still good u know" pc with i5-4690, 8 gigs of ram and Gtx 970. But out of curiosity i tried this game on something i mostly use now only for netflix because i have hard time throwing old stuff. It had i5-2500k, 6 gigs of ram and GTX 550ti (around the recommended specs for this game). And you know what? Full details on both, smooth gameplay, no stuttering or hiccups. On the oldie the load times were mostly okay (old HDD, with few bad sectors but still), on the newer system, there was almost no actual loading. So i rate the optimizations at a good level. 10/10 would try it on I3 with intel HD graphics.

Climate:
The game is sold out to us as sci-fi, cyberpunk-ish game with robots and stuff. And you know what? You can REALLY feel it in this game. The robots are... Robotic as expected. But the people in game, the "who cares about them anyway" people in here that are just living in this game are well done. You can really feel, this tensions between people in here. The poor ones vs the richer ones, and the government + corpos. All the gadgets, all the people, all the outfits and the guns. You can really feel this. And every particular location has its own little things that makes you really feel where you are.

Use of mouse and keyboard
Oh here we go. Now i can spit out my frustration here. I know dear SEGA that this is direct console port BUT FOR F**CKS SAKE you could work on making this game play at least "understandable" with mouse and keyboard. Dear god, the controls are awful. You cant do a quick throw of grenade because there is no button for it. The crosshair is too fast in "movement" mode, but when you press right button of your mouse, the move feels like 5 DPI because you need to make like a 3 meter move to do an 180 turn. But dear god, the worst was the part with a mobile battery. You just cant effectively move with it while on keyboard and mouse, i had to search for my controller to do it.

I could say more but steam says no.

Ahh, I actually had no idea. Like I said, I truly don't mind whatever offer. If you want to take a few ref back, that is fine. I didn't mean to accept overpay, I thought that I was being nice not checking, haha.

I just took the offer you had sent without looking on BP for the price. It's not a huge deal to me if I do not get the full price, it is only a few metals. Hope you enjoy the kit!
