The game deserves to cost more than just 4€. It's an awesome indie game.

Alright, let's start with the better stuff first:
Exploring the maps, building a base, defending it and attacking the other groups.

But everything must also have its bad side:
As far as the community goes behind the whole game, more than 90% of people I met were saying really, really bad things through the voice chat I was forced to disable it with strangers.
The game has a Pay-to-Win mechanics for both the cosmetic and functional items in which the player can competitively benefit. Other than that, the game is quite enjoyable. However, the game utilizes an Easy Anti-Cheat. EAC is a 3rd party anti-cheat software and should be LISTED on the game's listing as it is incompatible with Steam Play on Linux. (Which explains the Bronze rating on the ProtonDB) Not only that, but being a kernel-level anti-cheat, means opening your system to the bad actors. With that, you've already agreed to the software to monitor your hardware as long as the service is running on your device. It's only a matter of time when there will be another zero-day exploit affecting the Windows systems worldwide and rendering them useless as of the recents incident by a cybersecurity company.
The performance is awful on a high-end system, experiencing freezes or crashes even after setting the GC capacity over the 3GB limit.

The fact there's still no official support for the Logitech G923 with force feedback makes me regret the purchase of this game.

Preserve is a cozy and relaxing puzzle game. Each biome comes with different game mechanics. Puzzle and Normal mode become more challenging over time due to limited resources. You'll eventually find the harder ones easier once you figure out how to build and separate habitats from each other. In creative mode, only your imagination is the limit. The controls are easy to understand. Out of the box, the game is also Steam Deck friendly, however, it may need some touch UI optimizations as the controller is the only supported input for now and many users could expect to move the cards over to the island. The graphics are nice, even a low-end system can run the game fine. I'm looking forward for any new content to be added.

Even though the game was killed after the Legends failure, it's still good. The only downsides are the repetitive quests after the main storyline and lack of any community workshop.

I only wish the game wasn't THAT resource sensitive requiring the best NVIDIA 3000-series graphics cards. (Act like a 3050 was never created in the first place, just as the GTX 1630) Otherwise, the graphics is amazing on that old game engine.
