Congratulations! You've been randomly selected as a winner of a life-time supply of "Lag Detected"! Long gone are the days where you actually play the game; now you can experience the queue-timer in full force as you connect to a server only to get "Lag Detected" 5 minutes in, promptly getting put back into the queue. Repeat this process until you've entered the degen-hours, starting at around 1am, where this error still occurs but at least now you can instantly load back in just to be unable to move, requiring yet another restart. From this point on you have about 10 hours where you can experience this fever dream-like horror simulation as you desperately try to progress through the game before Jeff Bezos strikes again with his demonic, torturous, ♥♥♥♥-you shotgun of lag, shooting you right back to reality where you are greeted by a queue of 400 kids who finished their early day at school. Thanks for nothing, Jeff Bezos. Eat ♥♥♥♥.

Seeing as I wasn't able to get into a game and always got kicked back to the loading screen, that is what I will review.

The scenery is great, standing all alone on that bridge together with the red candles and the pumpkins really set the mood. I really enjoyed the birds flying past behind me. The boat behind you gives you a tease of what the game could be if it was possible to play. The character customization is a bit bare-bone, but I'm looking forward to the "playable woman" DLC, I will make sure to pick that up. Also, cool moon.

Cube World is the definition of a 40 year old dad living off of his high school success. Nobody cares that you were the captain in the football team Chad, you work at McDonalds now.

Project Zero Deaths has a lot of potential to improve and become a great game, but in its current state it is quite boring and unfair for many players.

To start off, the ranked system is pretty terrible; you are put in a game with 2-7 other players (or bots!). The ratings between the players in the lobby are pretty random, but can be excused with a low playerbase. When the game ends, you will always win or lose 0/2/10/18/20 elo points for a game, making it a rating system with limited rating. The rating traded between the players is decided on the average team rating, and does not take into account your own individual rating in the slightest. A 1300 player could lose 18 elo because he was put in a team with a 2900 player, even though his two opponents are 700 rating above him.

Higher ranked players have no chance of ranking up in the current state of the game by playing solo. In order to gain anything more than 0 or 2, you have to actively look for players way lower than you so you can drag down the average rating of the game.

The AI of the bots in this game are not the best; and there are a lot of bots. Playing a ranked Team Deathmatch and getting a team full of bots is almost certainly a loss for you as they are very easy to farm kills off of. Also gamemodes like Harvest are treated as a Team Deathmatch in their eyes, and have no fear of running into the enemy with all the rings on them. Of course bots will gradually be seen less and less as this game grows, but in its current state I'd like to see some sort of revamp for the bots, where they at the very least behave somewhat different depending on the gamemode they're playing.

Speaking of gamemodes, Payload doesn't feel like it belongs in this game at all. It is a slow-paced gamemode where you are supposed to contest a moving area until you score. It creates a lot of downtime with the 10 second respawn timer, and a lot of downtime sitting on the payload waiting for the enemies to arrive. Lowering the respawn timer, making the maps smaller or only having larger lobbies on payload would make the flow of the gamemode feel much better.

There are of course good things to be said about the game too. There are a wide selection of characters to be selected, all with different mechanics, abilities and stats. There is also a wide variety of weapons to be used, some weapons found exclusively on some maps.

The developers of the game are also very active on their own Discord where they frequently speak with the community regarding the game, taking notes on feedback and letting us know what they're working on. This is the main reason I believe this game can become much better; the people working on it are very community-driven and are always listening to feedback. Balance changes are being pushed frequently together with updates including new content.

All in all, I really wish I could recommend this game but in its current state I just cannot. I am looking forward to seeing what the future of this game brings and hopefully I can change this review to a more positive one.

Starting up the game, you are presented with a masterpiece. The graphics are impeccable, the original soundtrack is amazing, and the replayability is out of this world. The settings-menu brings you endless of options to personalize the game to your desire and choosing between loud music and loud music is what really made me happy that I spent my money on this game.

The storyline that you follow while you play this game is a masterpiece and might as well have been written by a professional - I wont spoil too much of the lore but all I can say is that naughty little slime is more interesting than you think. On the topic of thinking, this game really makes you do just that. It brings up controversial topics such as political correctness and the downfall of the alt-right, without taking away the experience you get while playing this game.

I want to thank all 9 (yes, nine!) developers for making such an amazing game, and even though you are such a small group you managed to pull through with what I would call not a tripleA title, but a quadrupleA title (AAAA)! Keep making great games and you'll go far.
