Early Access Review
TL;DR
No melee/vault
No zombies
No Servers
My First Tarkov Kit for kids
Relentless Ambient Sounds
Terrible Guns/Gunplay/Movement/Looting/

I tried to keep an open mind about the experience. I tried to stay clear of all the negativity surrounding this game.

Unfortunately, This is a big swing and a miss. It feels very rushed and underwhelming. The gameplay loop isn't there.
There is no melee at all, No vaulting system, Not great movement and simple physics objects will constantly stop you in place eg. Cardboard box

Zombies are more like a cameo, They will randomly jump out of cars as a means to load them in i guess? But you will never see more than 3 at one time. They all take 3 headshots to kill unless you have a pistol then its 4, the hit reg on them is not great so you will most likely miss 1 or 2 of those 3 headshots.

The looting doesn't make any sense, There is nothing fluid about it. You will loot a police station and get earrings from a container that looks like it houses a small Nuke. You will find better loot off zombies (if you can find them)

The sound is way too over the top.. Every second you are greeted with either non stop various alarms. Or random gunshots. Footsteps can be heard the next town over and ambient "russling? i guess you call it" is on every surface.

They did include a skill page! (Though it doesn't seem to work or do anything) And the inventory system is fine. It isn't anything special but it works....ish (I did have a bug of wearing 2 bags at a time. they deleted each other out and i lost an entire run of gear)

Extraction points are mind numbingly bad. 2 points in the city to escape without a backpack (Why you would want that i have no idea) and 3 points in the northern part of the map which is just big open space and seems to be camped by people who are rewarded for your hard work!

If you are from anywhere else besides America, Europe or Asia they have NO servers. The ping is horrible and you will die constantly around corners. or just get randomly dropped out of the game entirely. The whole element of looting is sluggish with high ping and looting points often disappear entirely.

Servers hold 32 people each and they do have quite a few servers. But the map is big enough you will not run into anyone if you don't want too (until you go to extract and get shot while you play with your ipad for 5 seconds being a perfect target for someone)

I can not in good conscience recommend this game to anyone in this state. It could do a complete flip and turn into something but there are MANY MANY years ahead of them to fix the glaring oversights of many aspects of this game.

I was a fan of the original Xenoverse so i was just as excited for Xenoverse 2, I dont want this to be a long review so i will just quickly go over the pro's and cons of what i have found in the hours i have played so far.

While they have fixed a few of the glaring issues from the orginal games such as the movement and combo mechanics you will still find yourself doing the same combo towards the end of game as everyone gets more stamina.

Graphically there is an improvement even if it is only slight.

A new big town that you can explore and eventually fly around, While there is still the same shops the introduction of TP medals and there own shop (which can only be used Friday-Sunday each week) they still have the same basic things that you can aquire through the game.

Every race gets a transformation now! Hooray its here!

Raid Boss type of events where you can play with up to 5 other players or play in offline mode with 5 random AI

Now for the bad. While they are petty it is still enough

The level cap now maxes at 80. While 80 does seem ok the XP they give you from getting Z ranking on a level will almost always give you a level, I finished the story and did 20-30 PQ's before i hit the cap.

The story has been told to death at this point, Nothing new to do or see.

Some of the abilites are buggey and some Ultimates take a day to launch which will just end in you getting slapped around trying to use them.

Transformations is a big one getting everyone on a level playing field after Xeno 1 is a challenge since saiyans were the supreme race being able to transform. Unfortunately it is still the same in Xeno 2.. While everyone can transform now, Only the saiyans get the major damage reduction and power boost, While each race has a boost the saiyan is most noticeable in the PVP, This has to be fixed if you want to encourage people to play the world tourney

All in all if you liked the first game and enjoy the mechanics of the dragon ball series you will get some joy out of this one, Would recommend waiting until it is on sale. Not much content at the moment to warrent paying for the season pass yet
